GD- PI Window Announcement
Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi have declared the list of shortlisted candi-
dates for attending the Group Discussion-Personal Interview(GD-PI) process for the admission to
MBE , session 2014-2016. Students were shortlisted based on the CAT percentile, educational per-formance and background & other parameters and as per their respective weightage mentioned in
the Admission Brochure.
To help shortlisted students with the GD-PI process, student bodies of MBE are resolving their que-
ries through different media like Facebook, Pagalguy etc.

After the hectic schedule of End term examination in the month of December, students at MBE
started off the new semester with a turn of events, seminars and other activities. Also, the admission
process for the session 2014-16 entered into its second phase with the announcement of shortlisted
candidates and GD-PI window. With this edition of Eco-Veracity we present to you a quick look
back at the last two months and what is in store in the next few days at Department of Business Eco-
nomics:

MARKIBIZ, The Marketing club
of MBE organized Brand-Aid
3.1, an inter college event with
over 100 teams participating from
various B-Schools in India.
Brand-Aid 3.1 consisted of two
rounds between 22nd and 31st
January, 2014. The first round
was in the form of an online quiz
based on the various aspects of
marketing and advertising. Dura-
tion for the quiz was 30 minutes
and the teams were required to
submit their answer through a
Google form. Out of 100+ teams
that participated in the first round
22 teams were selected for the
second round.
In the second round, the short-
listed teams were required to
submit an advertisement (picture
or video) about any of the follow-
ing four products:-
1. An E-commerce Website
2. A Mobile App
3. Newspaper
4. No-Smoking Campaign
Out of the 22 teams, 12 teams
were shortlisted on the basis of
the creativity of their advertise-
ments. The advertisements of the
12 shortlisted teams were posted
on the Facebook page of the MBE
Marketing Club: MARKIBIZ.
The reach and the number of likes
each entry got were recorded.
There was fierce competition be-
tween all the teams with everyteam coming up with superb and
innovative ideas. The Number of
likes and comments for various
advertisements were testimonials
to the hard work done by the vari-
ous teams.
The winners were decided by tak-
ing the weighted average of the
various factors: Quiz Score, Crea-
tivity, Likes and Reach of all the
entries.
Winners were:
1st Winner: Team Crafty Laras,
MICA Cash Prize of Rs 2000,
Certificate and Wild Card Entry
to MarkQuest 2014
1st Runner-Up: Team Bazzinga,
IIM Rohtak- Cash Prize of Rs

In an attempt to strengthen the roots of Management,
an IPL fashioned cricketing event, Masters PremierLeague has been launched at the Department very re-
cently. The students taking up the initiative to touch up
the essence of Management to sports, conducted a bid-
ding process to select the team of 5 from a pool of 30
players.
Each team has been assigned two managers and who
being mandatorily girls who have the responsibility in
choosing the most efficient team with the 1000 points
given to them. The managers need to auction the play-ers. Adhering to the rules of bidding, 6 teams have
been chosen with the Managerial skills of the Bidders
put to pressure.
Most of the teams composition was such that they
hardly knew about the rest of the players. It was com-pletely a test of their adaptability and working for an
Objective in a new environment.
The tournament kicked off and it knew no bounds in
levels of Enthusiasm and Support. Each and every
player was supported and cheered. Also, the players
were put to extreme pressure on the battlefield by not
only the opposition teams but also the crowd.
As the tournament progressed, the unity within the
batch seemed to have grown many folds. Finally, it
was the time of the Finals, that the entire batch cheered
for each and every player to support the game.
In the end, the team who absorbed well the pres-
sure and maintained their composure clinched the
trophy. But, the real winners of the game were
the Batch who became extremely united and it
was the day of the MBE History that each and
every student of a Batch had a smile on their
faces looking at the other persons smile. Three
cheers to MBE and its Magic!!!

MarkQuest, the annual conclave of the Department ofBusiness Economics is organized by the marketingclub "MarkiBiz". It provides a valuable platform forinteraction between industry and academia with indus-trialists and academia putting forward their views.

The Economic summit gives our students the opportu-nity to interact and connect with crme of the industry.This annual gathering, organized by the Economic
Society, is the place where thoughts are shared andnew ideas are discussed. A much awaited event, theEconomic Summit is where our students match their
wits with the academia and distinguished members of
the industry.

Finomena 2014
Finomena is the Annual Finance Conclave of the De-
partment of Business Economics, hosted by the depart-
ment's Finance Club "Blue Chips". Through its flag-
ship event the club attempts to create synergies be-
tween the students and the financial industry by en-
dearing an interactive platform which brings together
industrialists, policy makers and professionals, all lead-
ers in their domain.

Alumni Sports Meet , 2014
Annual Alumni sports meet of MBE gives a chance for
alumni to visit the campus and reunite with their
friends and at the same time enjoy a day full of sports
and fun activities.
