Raphael Co-founded Jumia in 2012 as an Online retail platform that sells a wide range of goods at low cost with easy delivery and returns. Jumia is currently active in Nigeria, Egypt, and Morocco - Jumia is seen as the largest e-commerce site in Africa with over 100,000 unique visitors per day. Rapahel has since left Jumia to Co-found Supermart, an online platform that allows the consumer to shop from over 18 000 grocery items that can be delivered to both home and office in as little as three hours.
Emilian was previously the managing director of Groupon South Africa. Prior to this, Emilian founded Africa Internet Accelerator, the ecommerce builder behind 3 online retailers: style36, 5rooms and kinderelo. Emilian started Rocket Internet South Africa and ran it as Managing Director, while founding the first two Rocket ventures in South Africa, Zando.co.za.Prior to Rocket Internet SA, Emilian co-founded Twangoo.co.za/Groupon in South Africa, Wimdu.com in China, Airizu.com in China, DealHayom.co.il in Israel and Lamoda.ru.
Joe has led Naspers’ Internet strategy team for the past 3+ years. Before Naspers, Joe worked at Morgan Stanley in New York where he covered leading Internet companies such as Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Pandora, and Yandex. In 2007, Joe co-founded the online investment site www.trefis.com and is an active angel investor in tech start-ups in South Africa and the US.
