Economics Journeys in Alaska Conduct Policy – May 2015 1. No illegal drugs or narcotics are allowed on the trip. If we catch you with them, you'll be sent home at your own expense. If authorities catch you with them, you will have to deal with them. 2. No abuse of alcohol, or abuse of yourself or others resulting from alcohol use. Though some of you are legally allowed to drink, excessive drinking on the trip can undermine the pleasure of others and will result in your being returned home. 3. All students are expected to follow the laws of the boat and all destinations. If for some reason you have a run in with the police, we will do what we can to help you, but ultimately you must be responsible for your own behavior. 4. All students are expected to respect the needs of others on this trip. Thus, all students must: a. Come to group meetings on time, having done the reading and having prepared for discussion. Unexcused absences and tardiness will not be tolerated. b. Arrive for trips and excursions on time. Plan ahead and be prepared so others don't have to wait. c. Keep reasonable hours and be mindful of other passengers. This is their vacation too. d. Respect the property of others and do not borrow or use items belonging to others without their stated permission. 5. All students are responsible for getting to the ship at the requested time of the captain. The ship will not wait for you. If you are left behind, it is your responsibility to get home. 6. Whenever students do leave the rest of the group, always take the name and phone number of the ship or hotel. Should an emergency arise, students should call the ship or hotel and speak with a faculty member or leave a message. 7. Students should remember that this is a course taken for credit. All Roanoke College student conduct policies and academic integrity policies apply to this course. 8. We will not only be guests on our trip, but representatives of Roanoke College. We intend to leave positive impressions of ourselves as students and faculty. Any destruction of property or other embarrassment to Roanoke College will NOT be tolerated. I have read the above policy and agree to follow it for the duration of our trip. I understand that my failure to fulfill any of my responsibilities could lead to my removal from the trip and to my being returned to home at my own expense. 1. No illegal drugs or narcotics are allowed on the trip. If we catch you with them, you'll be sent home at your own expense. If authorities catch you with them, you will have to deal

    with them.

    2. No abuse of alcohol, or abuse of yourself or others resulting from alcohol use. Though some of you are legally allowed to drink, excessive drinking on the trip can undermine

the pleasure of others and will result in your being returned home.

    3. All students are expected to follow the laws of the boat and all destinations. If for some reason you have a run in with the police, we will do what we can to help you, but

ultimately you must be responsible for your own behavior.

    4. All students are expected to respect the needs of others on this trip. Thus, all students must:

If you are left behind, it is your responsibility to get

    home.

    6. Whenever students do leave the rest of the group, always take the name and phone number of the ship or hotel. Should an emergency arise, students should call the ship or

hotel and speak with a faculty member or leave a message.

    7. Students should remember that this is a course taken for credit. All Roanoke College student conduct policies and academic integrity policies apply to this course.

    8. We will not only be guests on our trip, but representatives of Roanoke College. We intend to leave positive impressions of ourselves as students and faculty. Any destruction

of property or other embarrassment to Roanoke College will NOT be tolerated.

I have read the above policy and agree to follow it for the duration of our trip. I

understand that my failure to fulfill any of my responsibilities could lead to my removal

from the trip and to my being returned to home at my own expense.
