Principles

In addition to filtration, swimming pools need the following treatments: 

Disinfection – maintain a very low level or an absence of microorganisms and prevent cross infection between bathers.Oxidation – reactions with organic substances, notably chloramines and trihalomethane (THM), when these combine with chlorine.Flocculation and agglomeration of very small particles suspended in the water, which are then removed by filtration.

Ozone

Ozone is a gas that is a highly active form of oxygen, hundreds of times more powerful and effective than chemical treatments such as chlorine. Ozone oxidises the urea/ammonia responsible for chloramine production as well as chloramines formed. This precursor reduction also leads to reductions in THM levels. Generated on-site, dissolving ozone gas in water kills all bacteria and viruses leaving water with the highest level of clarity and brightness, free from odour and taste.All Triogen ozone systems operate under full vacuum, thus eliminating the risk of ozone gas leakage.

Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet light (UV) is highly effective at inactivating bacteria and viruses and also for oxidising organic species in water, when utilising medium pressure polychromatic lamp technology. Ultraviolet disinfection consists of a physical, chemical-free process, attacking the vital DNA of the bacteria directly, including examples such as parasites, Cryptosporidium or Giardia, which are extremely resistant to chemical disinfectants. In addition, it reduces chloramines by a variety of mechanisms. UV technology has advanced to the point where it can easily enhance the disinfection and oxidation of all sorts of pools.

Advanced Oxidation Process

Triogen’s Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) is a combination of ozone gas and UV light to form highly reactive hydroxyl free radicals, which enhances the decomposition of organic pollutants, and offers excellent pathogen control through the inactivation of chlorine resistant organisms. The UV light will photochemically destroy any residual ozone in the water, thus removing the need for deozonation equipment. The Triogen AOP process is a unique and chemical free technology, operating under full vacuum, a result of 30 years expertise in water treatment.

Principles

In addition to filtration, swimming pools need the following treatments: 

Disinfection – maintain a very low level or an absence of microorganisms and prevent cross infection between bathers.Oxidation – reactions with organic substances, notably chloramines and trihalomethane (THM), when these combine with chlorine.Flocculation and agglomeration of very small particles suspended in the water, which are then removed by filtration.

Ozone

Ozone is a gas that is a highly active form of oxygen, hundreds of times more powerful and effective than chemical treatments such as chlorine. Ozone oxidises the urea/ammonia responsible for chloramine production as well as chloramines formed. This precursor reduction also leads to reductions in THM levels. Generated on-site, dissolving ozone gas in water kills all bacteria and viruses leaving water with the highest level of clarity and brightness, free from odour and taste.All Triogen ozone systems operate under full vacuum, thus eliminating the risk of ozone gas leakage.

Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet light (UV) is highly effective at inactivating bacteria and viruses and also for oxidising organic species in water, when utilising medium pressure polychromatic lamp technology. Ultraviolet disinfection consists of a physical, chemical-free process, attacking the vital DNA of the bacteria directly, including examples such as parasites, Cryptosporidium or Giardia, which are extremely resistant to chemical disinfectants. In addition, it reduces chloramines by a variety of mechanisms. UV technology has advanced to the point where it can easily enhance the disinfection and oxidation of all sorts of pools.

Advanced Oxidation Process

Triogen’s Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) is a combination of ozone gas and UV light to form highly reactive hydroxyl free radicals, which enhances the decomposition of organic pollutants, and offers excellent pathogen control through the inactivation of chlorine resistant organisms. The UV light will photochemically destroy any residual ozone in the water, thus removing the need for deozonation equipment. The Triogen AOP process is a unique and chemical free technology, operating under full vacuum, a result of 30 years expertise in water treatment.
