There are three species on this pic-ture. There are clown fish, angel fish and the yellow fish.2 clown fishes, 2 an-gel fishes and 3 yellow fishes. That makes com-munity!

Connections to other Living things

That small bug is on the leaf because it is eating the leaf. That shows that they are con-necting!

Page 5: Ecosystem Book

This is Ms. M’s

stomach. In-side, there is a baby! Which is a living thing in a living thing!

Connection to Living and Non-Liv-ing

This picture is showing me, read-ing a book. How is it ecosystem? Well I am holding on a non-living thing and listening to a music which is also non- living thing.

Page 7: Ecosystem Book

I am taking pictures of myself!! Well this is also a ecosystem be-cause I an holding on a camera which is not liv-ing. Plus, I am a living thing, so I think I can say that this picture is ecosystem.

Page 8: Ecosystem Book

As you see, I am typing and when you type, you have to put your hands on the key-board and key-board is a non- liv-ing thing!

Organisms

Snails are organ-isms becauseIt is a living thing and it is a small living thing! Or-ganisms are mostly small liv-ing things.

Page 10: Ecosystem Book

Caterpillars are also an organism! They are also a living thing! Also I think they are small.

Grasslands 2

• The continent that are grasslands are:

– North America – South America– Asia– Africa– Australia

Page 13: Ecosystem Book

Grasslands 3

• Why is it important?:– It is because grassland is one the land,

so if there aren’t grasslands, then no-body will get to live in there.

– Grasslands is where there are a lot of animals and weird plants so it is very important.

Greenland vs. Dalian

• Why do more people live in Dalian than Grassland?

– Dalian is much warmer than Grassland– There are more animals and plants in

Dalian– The soil in Grassland is frozen.(Unable to

grow plants)– Greenland have less sunlight– In Greenland there are too much snow

that it is really hard to walk

China vs. Australia

• Why do wild pandas only live in China? Why can’t they live in Aus-

tralia?– China is a big land that isn’t really sepa-

rated–More bamboos in China– To go to Australia they need to swim and

they don’t really know how to swim

How plants, animals and humans compete each other

• Humans want places where the ani-mals and plants live.

• Animals want to eat the plant.• Humans want to eat the animals.• Plants want to drink more water.

Glossary

• Species: Different kinds of organisms• Population: One species all living in a given

area• Community: More than one species living in a

given area• Organisms: A living thing• Living things: Something that lives• Non-Living things: Something that isn’t alive.
