Mandate of the Centre• In order to reduce the gap between alert and response, the centre, in
collaboration with State services and ECOWAS, is mandated to:
• To alert Government of potential threats on populations, to proposeappropriate responses to the threats identified, in turn identify responsestructures (both at the level of the State, civil society, communities,development partners, etc.), to facilitate, coordinate, and monitor theimplementation of response related activities.
• Member States instruct through an Executive Order all competent publicservices at the national and regional levels to regularly submit all data,information and records on issues related to human security at the NationalCentre for the Coordination of the response mechanism.
