Using Blogs Creating Timelines on-line
Web- Quest Virtual Chemistry Lab
Using online sites to gather information into excel NASA Website
Matisse Enzer’s Glossary of Internet Terms puts it this way:
Blog -- (web LOG) A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of
updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically
updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background
to update and maintain the blog.

Having web blogs has an assessment tool can save many trees.
My first Blog account was created when I took Marine Biology here at NMC in Fall 2007. It was a great experience for me because I had no
knowledge of what is a blog. Got more exposure to different blogs and learned more
about why and how people created their blogs.
Below is a link to my blog (please click on Tides of the Pacific)

.is a great activity to extend your Unit to the Web
Shaping History
Let's Get Started!
TIDESUse the site above to get resources on tide data and paste
onto Excel
Microsoft Excel is another software that we can use in teaching science. When inputting data it will
automatically set for you.
Go to next slide for steps for the Tides Activity
1. Go to http://www.mobilegeographics.com:81/locations/5484.html and copy and paste the tide data at the bottom of the screen.2. Paste it into Excel and create 2 new columns listing the height and time. 3. Use those two columns to create a line graph showing the tide interval. If your graph shows a pink and blue line called 'series 1" and 'series 2', remove series 2.4. Label the graph Tides, x-time and y-height 5. copy and paste graph into Paint and save as a jpg file.
6. Go to www.blogger.com and create a blog for the class. 7. For your first post, upload your graph and answer the following questions:a. What is tidal range?b. What causes high and low tides?c. What causes Spring and Neap tides?d. How does tidal range effect the types of organisms and the shape and size of the organisms?
