down the list.

More than HALF the funds used to fund basic functions are generated by District Attorneys. District Attorneys now begin each day worrying not about the murder case their office will try, but about how they will fund a prosecutor to handle it.

Two Serious Outcomes:

•We will lose outstanding District Attorneys, whose constant worry about paying staff prevents them from focusing on effective prosecution. •We are failing the people of the State of Oklahoma, by forcing prosecutors to hire lower costly lawyers with less experience. If your child was raped or murdered, wouldn’t you want the best in the courtroom?

District One consists of Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, and Harper Counties. Total square miles of coverage for these four counties is 6,749 square miles. There are 22 employees, including the District Attorney and five Assistant District Attorneys.
