1.0 Introduction The eDesk is a mobile motorised height adjustable table, featuring a tiltable 48” Multi‐Touch Screen.

2.0 Safety Information Safe use of the system is possible only when the operating instructions are read completely and the 

instructions contained are strictly observed. Failure to comply with instructions may result in serious 

damage to the system or one of its components and warranty loss. 

It is important for everyone who is to connect, install, or use the systems to have the necessary 

information and access to this User Manual. Follow the given instructions – risk of injury if these 

instructions are not followed. 

The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons. 

If there is visible damage on the product it must not be used. 

Assure free space for movement of application in every direction to avoid blockade. It is the 

operator’s responsibility to ensure that there is free space for the application to move without risk 

for the operator or bystanders before operating the application. 

Persons who do not have the necessary experience or knowledge of the product must not use the 

product. Besides, persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities must not use the 

product, unless they are under surveillance or they have been thoroughly instructed in the use of 

the apparatus by a person who is responsible for the safety of these persons. 

Do not overload the actuators – this can cause danger of personal injury and damage to the system. 

Do not use the actuator system for lifting persons. Do not sit or stand on a table while operating – 

risk of personal injury. Do not use the system in environments other than the intended indoor use.

4.0 Functional Description

 Up and down (Ʌ V): Use the up and down buttons to move one pair of actuators up and down.  Toggle: Use the Toggle button to switch between the actuator pairs.  Storage: For the storage functions refer to the Linak Manuals in Appendix.

4.3 Windows Touch Screen functions 

4.3.1 Gestures 

Gesture  How to perform  Description 

Pan  Touch and drag the page with either one or two fingers. 

Use panning to see another part of a page that has scroll bars. For example, you can pan to see part of a long document or spreadsheet that doesn’t appear in the window. When you pan with one finger, dragging your finger vertically moves the page, while dragging your finger horizontally selects text on the page. 

Zoom  To zoom out, touch two points on the item, and then move your fingers toward each other, as if you're pinching them together. To zoom in, touch two points on the item, and then move your fingers away from each other, as if you're stretching them apart. 

Use zooming to make an item on the screen larger or smaller. With a picture, zooming in shows a smaller area in more detail; zooming out shows a larger area. 

Rotate  Touch two points on the item, and then move the item in the direction that you want to rotate it. 

Use rotating to move a picture or other item on the screen in a circular direction (clockwise or counter‐clockwise). 

Press and tap  Press the item with one finger, then quickly tap with another finger, while continuing to press the item with the first finger. 

Use press and tap to access the shortcut menu. Press and tap does the same thing as press and hold or right‐clicking an item.

4.3.2 Flicks You don't need to tap or click a menu item or a button on a toolbar to perform common tasks, such 

as copy, paste, undo, and delete. Instead, you can use a flick of your finger. For example, an upward 

flick moves a page down, and a downward flick moves a page up. There are two categories of 

flicks: navigational and editing. To learn how to use flicks, go to “Control Panel ‐> Hardware and 

Sound ‐> Pen and Touch ‐> Flicks” and click on “Practice using flicks”.

5.0 Service 

5.1 Touch Screen replacement To replace the screen, lift the actuators to access the four main screws, that hold the screen in place. 

After unscrewing, take out the complete display and place it on a clean workbench, screen facing down.  Be sure to disconnect all cables before taking out the display. 

Remove all the screen brackets. Two plastic brackets are located at the top and one to each left and right. At the bottom edge there are two metal brackets.

After the brackets are removed, the display can be spit from the screen and it is possible to replace the display or the touch overlay. 

After the desired component has been replaced, place the display back on the touch overlay and fixate the brackets again. 

 

When placing the complete touch display back into the e‐Desk, plug all the cables in and make sure that the power cord will not get trapped.  

Screw the main screws back in the same manner as you did unscrew them. The top two with a low actuator level, so the display is not falling out and after the top two are screwed back in, the actuator can be lifted safely to screw in the bottom ones.

5.2 Leg actuator replacement To replace a leg actuator, remove the side panels first.  

 Make sure the eDesk is on higher ground, so you can reach the screws underneath. Fit a spacer on the stand, that is at least 40mm high. To prevent scratches, cover the spacer with foam or a stable cloth.  

Loosen the top screws a little bit. So when the desk sits on the spacer, the actuator still can go down.  Info: Don’t unplug the cable, the cable has been unplugged in this picture to give better visibility. 

Lower down the actuator to its maximum.

Unscrew all four top screws and disconnect the cable. 

Undo the four screws underneath, that are connected to the bottom side of the actuator.  

If it is possible to tilt out the actuator, you may remove it at this stage. However, when it is not possible to tilt it out, go to the next step.

When it is not possible to tilt out the actuator, the bottom holding has to be removed. Unscrew the eight screws, that hold the bottom holding in place. 

When removing the bottom holding, make sure to the actuator, is not falling down. 

Slowly slide the actuator down, till you can access the top side of it. Undo the four screws and remove the bracket.

Now you are able to tilt out the actuator. Fit in the new actuator and redo the top bracket, the bottom holding, the top screws and the connection cable until you hit the original state.

5.3 Speaker replacement Replacing left Speaker To replace the left speaker, unscrew the four screws, that are holding the speaker mounting in place. 

 After unscrewing you are able to push out the speaker mounting and disconnect the audio Cable.   

 Place the mounting with the speaker on a clean workbench. The speaker holder (marked in red), is holding the speaker in place, after unscrewing you are able to exchange the speaker. When fitting the speaker back into the eDesk, don’t forget to connect the audio cable again.

Replacing right speaker To replace the right speaker, unscrew the four screws, that are holding the speaker mounting in place. 

 After unscrewing you are able to push out the speaker mounting. Three cables are connected to the speaker: ‐ Power cable ‐ Audio to PC Storage ‐ Audio to left Speaker  

Disconnect all three cables and place the mounting with the speaker on a clean workbench. The speaker holder (marked in red), is holding the speaker in place, after unscrewing you are able to exchange the speaker. When fitting the speaker back into the eDesk, don’t forget to connect the cables again.

5.4 Smartcard Reader replacement To replace the Smartcard Reader, locate the Core Mounting Cover #1 (right). 

Remove the brush strip by pulling it out. 

Remove the brush strip holder, by unscrewing the three screws that hold it in place.

To remove the Core Mounting Cover #1, unscrew the six screws, that hold it in place. 

 After all screws are removed, you are able to remove the cover a little bit and access the space underneath.

Locate the USB cable coming from the Smartcard Reader and disconnect it. The USB cable is hold in place with several cable ties, be sure to reattach them after exchanging the Smartcard Reader.

5.5 USB Camera replacement To replace the camera, first undo the Screen Mounting Cover #1, by unscrewing all screws that hold it in place (ten in total).  

Carefully place the Mounting Cover #1 on the back facing armrest. 

Follow the USB cable from the camera and unplug it.

Locate the screw that holds the camera in place and unscrew it. 

 After unscrewing you are able to exchange the camera. When fitting everything back in place, make sure to reconnect the USB cable and that all screws are located in the designated places.

6.0 Troubleshooting

6.2 Touch Screen cleaning Exercise with care when cleaning the Screen.Power off the eDesk. 

Wipe the screen with a clean, soft and dry cloth.

Do not use detergents that contain alcohol solvent or surface‐active agents. 

Do not spray water or detergent directly on the screen.

Wet a soft and dry cloth in water and wring thoroughly to clean the exterior of the screen. 

Reconnect the power to the eDesk.

6.3 Touch Screen Sensor cleaning Lift the actuators to access the four main screws holding the touch display in place.  First undo the two bottom screws, then lower the actuators again before undoing the top screws, to prevent the screen from falling out of the holding.

After unscrewing, take out the complete display and place it on a clean workbench, screen facing down.  Be sure to disconnect all cables before taking out the display. 

 

Remove all the screen brackets. Two plastic brackets are located at the top and one to each left and right. At the bottom edge there are two metal brackets. 

 

After removing all the brackets, the overlay can be spit from the screen.

Unscrew all screws that hold the glass. Be careful, the place where the screws are located can vary.  Make sure that all screws are removed. 

 

After removing all screws it is possible to lift the glass mountings.  When all mountings are lifted it is possible to isolate the glass from the frame. 

 

Carefully clean the space between the sensors and the glass and the sensors itself.

After the cleaning is finished, the glass mountings have to be applied back. Make sure that you screw all screws back in. 

 

Place the display back on the overlay and fixate the brackets again. 

 

When placing the complete display back into the e‐Desk, plug all the cables in and make sure that the power cord will not get trapped.

Screw the main screws back in the same manner as you did unscrew them. The top two with a low actuator level, so the display is not falling out and after the top two are screwed back in, the actuator can be lifted safely to screw in the bottom ones. 

 

 

6.4 Column initialisation The actuator system is initialised by pressing the down button once or twice and holding it down until the actuators runs into end stop. It will then automatically run approx. 5 mm out again and hereafter slowly run in again. Only release the down button when the movement has completely stopped. It is sometimes necessary to press the down button twice to start the initialisation, this is because the system can be in different modes when the initialisation starts. There will be a 1.25 sec. delay. If an error situation occurs at the end stop positions or the actuators are changed to another stroke length, then the actuator system has to be initialised again. The first two times the system runs into the outward end stop, it will automatically run approx. 3 mm back in inward direction.

7.0 Warranty Information 

7.1 Frame Structures, Actuators and Accessories There is a 12 months’ warranty on the product against manufacturing faults and for all mechanical 

components from the production date of the individual products.  

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You 

are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other 

reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced 

if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. What 

constitutes a major failure is set out in the Australian Consumer Law. 

Nothing in this Warranty purports to modify or exclude the conditions, warranties and undertakings, 

and other legal rights, under the Australian Competition and Consumer Act and other Australian 

laws. This Warranty gives you additional protection for your JumboVision product, and identifies a 

preferred approach to resolving warranty claims which will be quickest and simplest for all parties, 

subject to the exclusions, terms and conditions below.  

JumboVision’s warranty is only valid in so far as the equipment has been used and maintained 

correctly and has not been tampered with.  

This Warranty does not provide for remedy of failure caused by improper installation, operation, 

cleaning or maintenance, accidental and physical damage, misuse, abuse, fluid ingress, non‐

JumboVision modifications to the goods, software faults, normal wear and tear or any other event, 

act, default or omission outside JumboVision’s control such as, but not limited to: power surges and 

dips, thunderstorm activity, theft, acts of God, acts of terrorism or damage caused by vermin or 

insect infestation.  

The product you have purchased is not designed for any “critical applications”. 

“Critical applications” means life support systems, medical applications, connections to implanted 

medical devices, commercial transportation, nuclear facilities or systems or any other applications 

where product failure could lead to injury to persons or loss of life or catastrophic property damage. 

Furthermore, the system must not be exposed to violent treatment. In the event of this, the 

warranty will be ineffective/invalid.  

Failure to maintain the product or not following any given Safety Information or operation 

instructions, will lead to Warranty loss. 

This warranty only covers products directly purchased from JumboVision.
