Notice to Candidates

Dear candidate

At the outset we would like to send our best wishes for your May-June 2017 examinations!

This communication is focussing on the possibility of disruptions during examinations in May-June 2017. Although we hope that there will be no such disruptions, we would like you to be informed of the measures that the British Council may take in such a situation in consultation with Pearson Edexcel International Examinations.

If there is any disruption like ‘Hartal’ we will assess the situation with Pearson Edexcel International Examinations on case to case basis and may deliver or postpone the examinations. We will communicate this to candidates. Candidate must evaluate the situation while traveling to an exam venue during a ‘Hartal’ session if we deliver exams.

Safety of our candidates, staff, security of exams materials are paramount and influence our decision making. Therefore Pearson Edexcel International Examinations and British Council will keep the situation under constant review. We are also working on extra measures to put in place to ensure the safety and integrity of the exams. Where the situation is very much disruptive, and our risk assessment does not permit us to deliver then in consultation with Pearson Edexcel International Examinations we may cancel examinations considering the safety and security of our staff, candidates and examinations.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the British Council at

[email protected] or visit us at British Council, 5 Fuller Road, Dhaka.
