Applicant Visit Day
Your Applicant Visit Day will start at 12.00pm and finish atapproximately 4.30pm. The following programme outlines what you canexpect from your day:

12.30-1.00pm Welcome to Edge Hill and the Faculty of Education Robert Smedley Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of Faculty of Education
1.00-3.30pm Subject Taster Session
2.30-3.30pm Student Support Talk
3.30-4.30pm Campus and Accommodation Tours

Subject Sessions
This day will give you the opportunity to find out more about your chosencourse and meet tutors and current students. The subject taster sessionshave been designed to give you a hands-on experience of your chosencourse.
These sessions are for applicants only
The Faculty of Education Your FutureAn opportunity to discuss your programme and future career aspirationswith your tutor and how these aspirations complement your chosenprogramme of study.
Children and Young People’s Learning and Development
This group task will look at the specific qualities needed to work withchildren and young people. You will use a number of materials to producea poster to outline what you think these qualities are.
Early Years Professional Practice and Leadership
You will attend an Early Years taster session that will give you an opportunityto take part in a practical session and meet other applicants who areinterested in working with young children.
Teaching Learning and Mentoring Practice
In this session you will take part in three exercises designed to give you anunderstanding of how you learn and how this can be used to help otherslearn, how working and learning collaboratively increases the rate of yourown learning and finally a team task which relates to working with children.

By rail from Liverpool Central to Ormskirk station on Merseyrail's Northern Line or Preston toOrmskirk station on Northern Rail.
The Edge Link bus service is a fast, cheap and reliable way to get to the campus fromOrmskirk Bus Station. During term-time this service runs every 15 minutes, 8.05am –5.50pm, Monday-Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) and 8.05am – 5.50pm on Saturdays.
