All proceeds benefit WRC Senior Services. The Oakland Church of God will be here Tuesday, October 2 at 6:00 pm. Church of God will be arriving Saturday, October 20 at 1:15 pm. Support group will be held Wednesday, October 24 at 10:00 am. Join us for an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, October 24 at 1:30 pm. Animal therapy will be making another appearance on Friday, October 26 at 2:00 pm. Keep of the Grass band will be here to spread some musical joy on Friday, October 27 at 2:00 pm. We will be having a Trunk or Treat hosted by our staff and residents on Wednesday, October 31 at 6:00 pm. All events posted on the front cover will be in BOLD on your calendar! Facts about October The women always look forward to their Friday tea time with each other. They had homemade cookies baked for them, with hot tea and milk. Red Hat Society Nails Down Time The residents love getting their nails done every other Wednesday! It’s another thing that they look forward to. We have even been experimenting with designs for October with some of the ladies! In between activities the residents participated in looking at old photos of the Edgewood Heights building and past residents that once lived there while enjoying ice cream sundaes. We also had Sam and Charles watch the football game together in the Common area. Our resident, Bonnie, and Activity Director, Cheyanna Wright, worked for three days to finish a beautiful puzzle together. Edgewood Events October was originally the eighth month of the Roman calendar. It comes from the Latin word "octo", meaning eight. It became the tenth month when January and February were added. Columbus Day, the second Monday of October, is a national holiday and celebrated in many countries of the Americas as the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in America in 1492. Halloween, which occurs annually on October 31, has been around since Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of the ancient Celtic festival Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. they look forward to. We have even been

experimenting with designs for October with

game together in the Common area. Our
