# # # FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE What: Third Annual Edible Book Festival When & Where: Tuesday, August 19, 12 pm, at the Little Egg Harbor Library CONTACT: Lauren Shockley, 609-294-1197, [email protected] Little Egg Harbor Library Celebrates its Third Annual Edible Book Festival LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ – The incredible Edible Book Festival will be held at the Little Egg Harbor Library on August 19 th , at 12 pm. Culinary interpretations of literary works are the main event, although this year’s festival will also include an afternoon tea. This free event is open to the public and intended for adults. This is the third year in a row that the Little Egg Harbor Library has hosted the festival. Entrants must create an edible dish that looks like a book, is a pun on a book title, or refers to a character. Years past have yielded dishes from silly to savory; one entry consisted of two frankfurters crammed in a stein, in homage to Frankenstein’s Monster. Another featured cupcakes piled high with spaghetti-like frosting, topped off with Ferrero Rocher chocolates dipped in strawberry sauce, scrumptiously celebrating the children’s classic, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. This year, local clubs and organizations have been invited to submit entries. Judging will begin at noon by the Friends of the Little Egg Harbor Library and Mayor Arthur Midgley. Attendees who would like to become a member of the Friends group may sign up at the event. The categories this year’s entrants will be vying for are Most Creative, Most “Pun-derful”, Most True To Book, and Most Delectably Appetizing.
