Las gotas de sudor resbalaban por su espalda mientras contemplaba los rayos taciturnos del sol poniéndose.

Había sobrevivido un día más, pero no sabía si mañana a la misma hora en el mismo lugar, podría volver a contemplar los mismos rayos escondiéndose tras las montañas.

Para ahorrarnos faena y no tener que volver a pintar las luces y las sombras en la ropa otra vez, podemos ir más rápido si hacemos lo siguiente:

1.- Hacemos una selección de la capa de la ropa.

2.- Nos vamos a la capa del personaje y copiamos y pegamos esta selección en una nueva capa (Mac: Cmd+J/Win:Ctrl+J)

3.- Jugamos con Edición/Curvas hasta obtener unos tonos muy oscuros pero donde las luces sean reconocibles.

Ahora ya tenemos una base sobre la que trabajar. Es mucho más sencillo partir de aquí que tenerlo que volver a pintar todo de nuevo. Básicamente tenemos que pintar encima de la zona de los pezones y poner algunas costuras en la ropa.

Después le aplicamos unos brillos especulares con un color casi blanco para que se note que es una superficie brillante. El látex se caracteriza

por tener un alto grado de contraste en su superficie y por ser un material muy reflectante. Si queremos obtener un resultado realista y efectista tendremos que tener esto presente.

Por otra parte deberemos a volver a pintar la parte del escote, ya que los pechos bajo ‘presión’, varían su forma, sobre todo si son naturales. Estarán mucho más juntos y más redondeados, ya que la gravedad no les afectará demasiado. Podéis hacer la prueba en casa frente al espejo. Bueno, si sois hombres… quizá mejor que no lo probéis (o hacedlo cuando estéis solos).

Seguidamente oscurecemos un poco el dragón del fondo y acentuamos una luz lateral en el contorno izquierdo de la chica para separarla del fondo y darle un mayor protagonismo.

Ya hemos acabado nuestra fase de blanco y negro. Es hora de un descansillo. Voy a picar algo a la cocina y vuelvo enseguida. No os vayáis ;)

To save us some work and not to paint the lights and shadows in the clothes again, we can do it more quickly if we do the following:

1.- We make a selection of the clothes layer.2.- We go to the layer of the character and copy-

paste this selection in a new layer (Mac: Cmd+J/Windows: Ctrl+J)

3.- We play with Edition/Curves until we get very dark hues but where the lights are recognizable.

Now, we already have a base upon which we can work. It’s much more simple to start from this point than having to paint it all again. Basically, we have to paint on the nipples area and add some sewing to the clothes.

After that we apply some stunning shines with an almost white colour to make it a shining surface. The latex has a high degree of contrast in its surface and it’s a very reflective material. If we want to obtain a realistic and effective result we’ll have to bear this in mind.

On the other hand, we will have to paint the neck area again, because the breasts under ‘pressure’ vary its shape, especially if they are natural. They will be much closer and rounder because they will not be so altered by gravity force. You can prove it in front of a mirror at home. Well, if you are a man… perhaps it is better if you don’t try it (or only if you are alone).

Then, we will make the background dragon a bit darker and will also make a side light a bit stronger in the left outline to make her detach from the background and give her more importance.

We have already finished with our phase in black and white. It’s time for a break. I’m going to have some snack and come back again. Don’t go, please! ;)

Como el trabajo realizado en la fase en blanco y negro era bastante exhaustivo y la ropa va a seguir siendo negra, no tardaremos mucho en colorear la vestimenta. Simplemente creamos una máscara de capa en modo color y la manchamos con los colores que encontramos en el fondo. Aquí la opacidad será mayor que en la que utilizamos para el mismo procedimiento en el cuerpo, ya que el látex es mucho más reflectante que la piel.

Para terminar ponemos una capa en modo multiplicar por debajo de la de la ropa y pintamos con un tono siena tostada las sombras que haría la ropa sobre la piel.

Finalmente añadimos una capa encima del todo con algo de humo en primer plano y otra con los bordes más oscuros para centrar la atención sobre la escultural figura de la chica. Y para darle el toque final y quitarle algo de la ‘frialdad’ digital creamos una capa con un 50% de gris, le aplicamos ruido (filtro / ruido /añadir ruido) y la ponemos en modo luz suave, juzgando con la opacidad hasta conseguir un resultado que nos satisfaga. Es hora de irse a dormir. Por hoy ya está bien. Espero que hayáis aprendido algo y no os hayáis aburrido demasiado con las partes teóricas ;)

LET’S DRESS UP VANRA, WE DON’T WANT HER TO GET A COLD

As the work done in the black and white phase was very exhaustive and the clothes will still be black, it won’t take us too much to colour it. We simply create a mask layer in colour mode and we put the colours that we find in the background. Here the opacity will be higher than the one we use for the body, for the latex is more reflective than skin.

To finish, we put a layer in multiply mode under the skin layer and paint it with a brown sienna colour the shadows that the clothes would make on the skin.

Finally, we add a layer that covers everything with some smoke to the forefront and other one with darker edges to focus the attention on the sculptural figure of the girl. And to add the final touch and remove some of the digital ‘coldness’ we create a layer with a 50% of grey, apply some noise (Filter / noise / add noise) and we put it in soft light mode, playing with the opacity up to getting the result that we want. It’s time to go to bed. There’s enough for today. I hope that you have learnt something and didn’t get bored too much with the theoretical parts ;)

Con un simple golpe de vista podéis ver en estas dos páginas las armas con las que me ayudo cada día a la hora de llevar a cabo mis creaciones.

Vayamos por las herramientas tradicionales. Prefiero utilizar portaminas antes que los lápices tradicionales y suelo usar minas 2H y HB. Como todo buen humano me suelo equivocar, por lo que también me es imprescindible el Ctrl+Z analógico, más conocido como goma de borrar. Hace un par de años, y tras ver alguno de los dibujos de Adam Hughes, decidí probar los rotuladores Copic. Hoy en día no puedo vivir sin ellos. En concreto los Copic Sketch tienen una punta con forma de pincel que es ideal para hacer trabajos gestuales.

En cuanto a mis armas digitales suelo alternar entre una Wacom Intuos 3, que fue mi primera tableta ‘en serio’, con una Cintiq 21UX, siendo esta última la que más utilizo.

Como buen friki que soy, me fascinan las calaveras y por fin este verano me pude hacer con una. Tiene un tamaño muy manejable y es ideal para hacer estudios anatómicos. Siempre está en mi mesa de trabajo.

Y no podían faltar el café y las bebidas energéticas. En este oficio hay muchas veces que las fechas de entrega son algo locas y hay que mantenerse despierto y produciendo. Son momento puntuales, pero existen.

Ocurrió de repente. Ese no era el hechizo que quería lanzar. Incluso la profe ‘gafitas’ se estaba desnudando. Ojalá que uno de los efectos secundarios sea la amnesia, si no me echarán de la academia y mis padres se enfadarán.
