TitlesTo inform the audience, titles must be added in our documentary on certain shots (mainly interviews) like such. Names on an interview is a typical key convention in documentaries.

To be able to include titles the following stages are needed to be done on ‘Abobe Premiere Pro’: Title, New Title, Default Still,.

ColourAdjustment

Using ‘Video Effects’ on the editing software allows us to adjust the brightness/contrast etc of different shots. Therefore if we want our shot to include high key lighting we will then make the brightness higher. Due to the documentary being about riots, we thought the dark, dismal weather fits in perfectly. Therefore the lighting in our shots will not include high key lighting, as natural/low key lighting creates a sense of realism like documentaries are supposed to.

ColourAdjustment

I have used the video effects to brighten up this shot slightly, as it was too dark.

Positioning

Using the ‘Potion’ tool, allows me to move the shot frame in any position. In this shot the camera is slightly slanted so I used the ‘position’ tool to move it so it looks straight.

The ‘scale’ tool allows you to zoom in or out of the shot depending on how close or far away you want the positioning to be. In this shot, there is a black rim around the window. Using the ‘scale’ tool, I zoomed in slightly to make the black rim look less visible.

Importing

Importing music and footage is easy when using Adobe premier Pro. All the imported files are usually in a box in the top left side of the screen, we are then able to drag and drop the footage/music and edit it the way we want to.
