Food, Music and Art The Arts Trail is on this weekend! Twelve local artists will be exhibiting their work on the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March. In addition to the artwork, enjoy food, music and the ambient atmosphere. .

Two Locations in Dereel

Both venues are open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Venue 11: Dereel Hall, 14 Swamp Road, Dereel

Saturday 17th March

BBQ: 9:30am to 2pm cooked by the Dereel Men’s Shed

Devonshire Tea: 1pm to 4pm prepared by the Dereel Walking Group

Coffee, Chai and Hot Chocolate: All day, from DCHI’s Hub Café.

Music: 12 noon until 3pm Noah Vernon

Sunday 18th March

BBQ: 10am to 5pm cooked by the Dereel CFA and CERT teams

What’s On? This list combines information from all of the local community groups.

GPS Arts Trail North

Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March

Venue 11: Dereel Hall

Venue 12: ZenArt Australia Studio

Twelve local artists are participating in the 2018 Golden Plains Shire Arts Trail North.

Food will be provided by local groups as a way of fundraising. Support the Men’s Shed and the Dereel Walking Group on Saturday or the CFA and CERT on Sunday. Or support all of them!

Venues are open from 10am to 5pm both days.

Regular Events

Mums and Bubs Pram Walk

Mondays 8:50am, Dereel Hall Carpark

Join other local mums for an active walk in the local area. Prams and little ones welcome.

Note: this group doesn’t meet when it’s raining!

DCHI Community Planning Meeting

Monday 19th March at 7:30pm

Tbe Dereel community are invited to attend the next DCHI meeting, held in the Dereel Community Centre kitchen.

Walk and Cuppa

Tuesdays from 8:30am, Dereel Kitchen

Join the walking group on a Tuesday morning. Enjoy having a chat in the kitchen or going for a walk in the local area followed by a cuppa.

Hub Café

2pm to 4pm Saturdays, Community Kitchen

The Hub Café offers a friendly place to meet each Saturday. Enjoy a chat with others over real coffee, chai or hot chocolate.

Colouring In

2pm to 4pm Saturday 24th March,

If you enjoy colouring in, bring your books, pens and pencils to Hub Café on the fourth Saturday of the month and chat while you colour.

Dereel Men’s Shed

Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11am-3pm

New members are welcomed.

Tai Chi

Wednesdays 7pm to 8pm during school term time, Community Centre

Sandra Pearce of Lilac Moon Tai Chi runs classes for a fee. Contact Sandra: 0409 662 106.

Tae Kwon Do

Wednesdays 7pm to 8pm term time, Dereel Hall.

Family friendly classes run for all ages. Run by Richard Van Bassen from South East Australia Tae Kwon Do.

Mobile Library

Thursdays 2.15 to 3.00pm, Dereel Hall Car Park

The mobile library from Geelong Regional Library visits weekly, except the last Thursday of month.

Coming Up In April

Community Breakfast

Tuesday 3rd April, 8am

Come and join the Dereel Walking Group for a hearty breakfast in the Dereel Community Centre kitchen, for the cost of a gold coin donation.

Dereel Community Gardening Group

Saturday 21st April from 2pm to 4pm: Help us plant and maintain the Dereel Community Garden. Regular working bees occur each month on the third Saturday of the month.

Facility Management and Bookings

The Dereel Hall and Community Centre can be booked through integratedliving Australia (formerly Ballarat District Nursing and Healthcare—BDNH) who manage the Dereel Facility on behalf of the Golden Plains Shire Council .
