Relay for Life was a 5 mile
walk on the beach in honor of
cancer survivors and the ones
who died fighting the terrible
disease. The person who set it
up for our school was Mrs. Cos-
ta and she made a goal of
$2,000 although we only raised
$1,800. All the money our
school made goes to cancer
research. Some ways that they
made the money was by people
making donations in the walk
and by people donating 5 dol-
lars to light up luminaries which
are lit up paper bags aligned on
the beach. The person who
donated money for the bag
nominated someone in honor
of their fight with cancer. The
people who were nominated
could be someone alive or
someone dead. A popular
person who was nominated is
Talia Castellano who was a
famous makeup artist on
YouTube that died at the age
of 13 last year.

RELAY FOR LIFE
The Bobcat’s spring con-
cert occurred on March 5th,
2015. Mr. Rodriguez, Ms.
Porter, and Ms. Ruben all
helped bring the concert
together. The first perfor-
mances were done by Mr.
Rodriguez’s guitar and
orchestra group. Mrs. Cala-
bresi attended the show
and stated that her favorite
part was when Richard
Lopez played the piano
and when Christian Cala-
bresi played the chords for
the song “The Water is
Wide.” Mrs. Calabresi
also stated that the Bobcat
talent was outstanding
throughout the evening.
“It was a pleasure to listen
to all the performances
and all the music teachers
rocked!” stated Mrs. Cala-
bresi. Tobias Paglioroli
played a solo on the violin
and stated “I do it all the
time and it felt great!”
Sophia Cuervo sang
“Lean on Me", and she
said it made her extremely
nervous, however, it was a
great experience. Ms.
Ruben’s students played
the recorders after the
orchestra and guitar stu-
dents played. Many par-
ents and students were
entertained by the perfor-
mances that Mr. Rodri-
guez, Ms. Ruben, and
Ms. Porter put together
for their enjoyment. So
next time you want to see
a great concert, come by
to the Bobcat’s next per-
formance!

Spring Break
Energetic
If you mostly got blue, you are ener-
getic! You love to do activities and
you’re always active! You would
rather go to the beach than staying at
home.
Laid Back
If you got mostly green, you are laid
back! You are sort of active. You rather
go walking than laying down on your
bed.
Inactive
If you mostly got red, you are inactive!
You dislike doing activities. You would
rather stay home than go swimming.
Do you enjoy spring break?

versary. Some schools, like
ours, made art revolving
around its 100th year. Mrs.
Vidal Santos’ art classes
made posters for the event.
All the art was displayed in
city hall. A lot of the pic-
tures created include warm
beach scenery with tall palm
trees as well as the tall sky-
scrapers that you can see in
downtown. Thanks to Dade
County, we were able to
show off our art skills for the
people of Florida.
CENTENNIAL ART On March 26th, Miami
Beach hosted an event to
commemorate its 100th
year anniversary. Miami
was first established by
Charles and Henry Lum to
help shipwreck victims at
or near the coast of South
Florida. To help lighten up
the mood at the event, Mi-

white:170. Great job everyone!
Ever wonder where you want to
go for Spring break? Well you’re
just in luck, the journalism team
has recently surveyed many Bob-
cats to see where they would
rather vacation during the break.
They had to choose between New
York, California, and Hawaii,
and the most common pick was
California. Maybe your next
destination will be California!

Ndamukong Suh hit the open market
on March 10, 2015 at 4 p.m. He
was considered to be the number
one agent on the “free agent” mar-
ket. He recently played for the
Detroit Lions and he was looking
for a record breaking deal with a
team that has playoff hopes. Many
teams wanted this one particular
player, but no one wanted to over
pay for him except for our
hometown team, The Miami Dol-
phins. His contract was a 114 mil-
lion dollar contract for 6 years, with
60 million guaranteed. Hopefully,
he lives up to his expectations with
his new team The Miami Dolphins.
judges placed stickers on
the projects depending on
their quality. Over 7,000
students participated.
This was a sensational
and entertaining event.
Congratulations to Diana

ik, Alexa Manani, and
Shaun Merrill.

This month we are
featuring a song called
Stay with me, by Sam
Smith. He won 4
awards at the 2015
Grammies: Best Artist
of the Year, Best Pop
Vocal Album, Song of
the Year, and Record
of the Year. Sam
wrote the song about a
past break up. He was
born in London, Eng-
land on May 19,
1992. If you haven’t
already heard the
song, you might want
to listen to it!

cats for winning the

This Science fair took

Dade County evaluated

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle! Our
school RKBBH is going green by
helping the environment. Some
ways we are doing this is by recy-
cling clothes, bottle caps and soda
caps. Mrs. Bergman has been
sending soda caps to the Ronald
McDonald House for the last 14
years. Mrs. Bergman also sends
bottle caps to a beauty company
“Aveda,” which has a special
facility to recycle bottle caps.
Other teachers such as Mrs. Miller,
organized a gardening club. Her
after school club makes items such
as purses and wallets or recycled
juice pouches.
