Nepali Mathematicians at ICM 2014, Seoul, Korea
Editorial Farewell MessageNepal Mathematical Society (NMS) is a professional organization of Nepali Mathematicians, which conducts different activities such as seminars, monthly talk programs, national and international conferences and symposiums. Interactions among Nepalese mathematicians in emerging issues of teaching, training and research are also carried out.
The present executive committee has been active in organizing different programs. NMS realizes the importance of mathematics for modern society. We are pleased to bring out the eleventh issue of the NMS newsletter on the auspicious occasion of its 37th anniversary. The newsletter highlights the activities of the society and its members during 2071 Jestha to 2072 Ashad (June 2014 to May 2015).
In each issue of newsletter we include an interview and a brief biography of eminent mathematicians. Interview of Prof. Omkar Nath Pant and a brief biography of Prof. Dr. Santosh Man Maskey are included in this issue. We strongly believe that Nepal Mathematical Society plays a vital role to ensure fast progress of mathematical activities and to give positive message about popularization of mathematics among mathematical and non-mathematical community. Therefore, the executive committee has to be active, sincere and convinced on how fast and in what capacity NMS can transfer the knowledge to build the mathematical base quite strong.
We are thankful to our valued life members and other organizations that have supported us in many ways and also for their kind cooperation to strengthen the activities of NMS. We hope that similar support and cooperation would continue in the coming days.

Nepal Mathematical Society is celebrating its 37 years of establishment. This year we are forming the new Executive Committee. I served as the President of the Society for two terms from 2009 and in few days I am handing over the executive post to a new President. I hope that the new Executive Committee will be able to take NMS to new heights.
During my tenure, NMS has become the Associate Member of International Mathematical Union (IMU) from 2010 and Associate Member of South-East Asian Mathematical Society (SEAMS) from 2013. Biannual National Conference has been held regularly at major cities outside Kathmandu.
On behalf of the Executive members of 2009–2012 and Executive members of 2012-2015, I thank all the mathematicians of Nepal and abroad and especially the members of NMS for their continued support during the six years of my Presidency from June 2009 to July 2015.

+ Sir, it is a reality that number of students
in math classes at higher level is not high.
In you view what factors are responsible
of it and also suggest the measures to
improve the situation?
• You are right. The number of students at
