General Secretary Report 2018-19 Most respected members of our SBI Pensioners Association of Chandigarh Circle, I would like to address you as SBI Pensioners Family and like to share with all of you regarding the working of the Association and Federation of SBI Pensioners & the activities which were organised at our various centres/units. First of all, as I have already brought in your knowledge regarding the very successful Annual General Meeting of our SBI Pensioners Meet held at LHO Building (North Block) at the Ground Floor on 02.12.2018 and all the details have been mentioned in our January issue of Pensioners Mail. I would like to share with you that with the co-operation of all our units and individuals, we have been able to raise our membership to approx. 5900 as on date. More and more members/membership gives strength to our organisation and our Federation leaders to go for the welfare/demands for the members by having dialogue at the structred meeting (once held in every year) with the management at the Corporate Office from time to time. As far as our circle is concerned, our various units are holding innovative activities and pensioner's meet have also been organised at various centres. To name them our Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Sirsa, Shimla, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Abohar, Panchkula, Palampur, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Paonta Sahib units held various such type of activities. The below mentioned units held Pensioners meet at their centres in a very well organised manner and were largely attended by the members at their centres. We are grateful to our these units namely Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Palampur, Ambala City, Kurukshetra, Gurugram, where senior most pensioners were honoured by the Circle Association. During this period, two A.G.M.'s of the Federation of SBI Pensioners were held at Puri and Indore in the month of October, 2018 and March, 2019. Three meetings of the Governing Body of the Federation were also held at Puri, Hyderabad & Jaipur to discuss various matters. At the Indore AGM, the trinniel elections of the Federation for 2019-2021 were held. Many new entrants were included and few of the old office-bearers retained their places. It is a matter of honour for our Circle that Sh. T.R. Gupta, our General Secretary got elected as Vice President of the Federation for the aforementioned period. With the passage of time, you would be very happy to note that out of all the 17 Circle Associations, Chandigarh Circle has its own identity. Our Federation decided to file Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court, in the Governing Body meeting held at Jaipur on 11.08.2019, regarding our 50% Court case WP1875/2013 for early hearing on regular basis. Unfortunately Supreme Court declined our S.L.P. leaving us to only wait for the next hearing on 27.11.2019 at Delhi High Court. All efforts are being made by the Federation leadership.

General Secretary Report 2018-19Most respected members of our SBI Pensioners

Association of Chandigarh Circle, I would like to address

you as SBI Pensioners Family and like to share with all

of you regarding the working of the Association and

Federation of SBI Pensioners & the activities which were

organised at our various centres/units.

First of all, as I have already brought in your knowledge

regarding the very successful Annual General Meeting of

our SBI Pensioners Meet held at LHO Building (North

Block) at the Ground Floor on 02.12.2018 and all the

details have been mentioned in our January issue of

Pensioners Mail. I would like to share with you that with

the co-operation of all our units and individuals, we have

Latest position regarding our demand of 30% Family

Pension enhancement & updation of Pension, we have

come to know that the working associations under the

banner of U.F.B.U., have assured to take up the matter

positively when the XIth B.P.S. is settled in near future.

The details of the talks with IBA would be known only

then.

You would be happy to note that from the year 2019, the

management at LHO started honouring our senior-most

pensioner on 15th August also. Previously the Bank used

to honour our senior-most pensioner on the 26th January

only. We are grateful to our Chief General Manager for

this act of kindness and recognition of the senior

pensioners. We also donated a sum of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees

fifteen thousands only) towards Bharat Veer A/c for

Pulwama victims through SBI Ladies Club headed by

Mrs. Rashmi Singh, wife of our respected C.G.M. Sh.

Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh Ji. Rs.7,500/- was collected

from the tricity members in our Wednesday meetings &

Rs.7,500/- was contributed by the Circle Association,

which was appreciated by one and all.

In between this, we lost our beloved President Sh. Jai

Ram Gupta in the month of April, which was a great blow

to our Circle unit.

Dear Members, we have updated the list of our Pensioner

members upto 31.05.2019 and released a Telephone

Directory also. The details of which has been conveyed

to all of you in our September, 2019 issue in which the

system of having the Directory from our various units and

at Tricity of Chandigarh, Mohali & Panchkula. Our Executive

Committee meetings of the Circle Association were held

on 19.04.2019 and 21.09.2019, in which mostly all the

E.C. members took part in the deliberations over various

subjects.

In the last but not the least, we are very grateful to the

management for acceeding to our demand for

reimbursement of our Annual Pensioner's Meet held at

Chandigarh on 02.12.2018, by sanctioning a sum of

Rs.95,000/- for the same. Our Chandigarh Circle

Association is very much thankful to the management in

general and our Chief General Manager in particular and

also thankful to Dy. GM-CDO, AGM-PPG, AGM-HR, AGM-

OAD and AGM-Estate for their all help and cooperation for

organising our all activities in the Circle. We are also

thankful to the Chief Manager (IR) at LHO and all the staff

members of the captioned departments at LHO, Chandigarh

for their nice cooperation. Although their are chances of

more improvements in our Dispensary at LHO but still,

in nutshell, we are satisfied by the services provided by

our Bank's Doctor Capt. (Rtd.) Dr. Satbir Singh.

I am very much grateful to our all the Vice Presidents of

various modules led by Sh. V.K. Kalia of Ludhiana, Sh. Y.P.

Suri of Jalandhar, Sh. U.S. Negi of Shimla, Sh. Ujjagar

Singh of Jammu & Sh. S.P. Aggarwal of Karnal (Haryana)

for supporting me whenever it was required. My heartiest

thanks to S/Sh. S.K. Sharma (Treasurer & Governing

Body Member), Sh. K.K. Trikha (Dy. General Secretary),

Sh. K.P. Joshi (Vice President), Sh. H.K. Sharma (Asst.

General Secretary), Sh. S.C. Aggarwal (Organising

Secretary) & Sh. Tek Chand (Asst. Treasurer) for their full

and energetic cooperation to me. Without their participation

& encouragement, I would not have in a position to deliver

the goods.

I wish all of you and your families a very happy Dussehra,

Dipawali and 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak

Dev Ji.

News from Units...

JIND UNIT

In the monthly meeting of Jind unit on 21.08.2019, like every

year, this year also Tree Plantation Programme was organised

at Maharishi Vidya Mandir School. Plantation of Tulsi & Triveni

were made thereat. All the present members of the Association

were provided with a plant of Tulsi each. The children of the

school were apprised on 'Paryavaran'. As a gesture of goodwill,

Rs.2100/- was donated to the school for the welfare of children.

The occasion was covered by the print media, clipping of the

same is shown here.

MOGA UNIT

Monthly meeting of August, 2019 was held which was attended by 35 members. The meeting was addressed by the Chief

Manager of Moga Branch assuring of all help to the pensioners.
