• We are to get to the bottom of the situation and determine the cause of the problems they are having – WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE FOOD

Your Tasks

• Find your station (using the coloured square) and inspect the food according to the worksheet provided in three minutes.

• One worksheet per group of four.• Then, we will rotate you around to the next

station.• DO NOT LOSE YOUR COLOURED SQUARE

Where does Osmosis fit in the PLOs and Extension Questions

• Science 8 (Cell Unit) and Biology 12 (Intro Cell)• Extension Questions– Why do grocery stores spray their fresh produce with

water?– If a bowl of strawberries is sprinkled with sugar, a few

minutes later the will be covered in juice. Explain why this happens.

– If a potato was in 4 different beakers at different temperatures (5°C, 20°C, 25°C, 35°C). Which will be the heaviest after 30 minutes.

– If a shipwrecked crew drank salt water, they could die. Explain why.
