Route 01 - Barossa & Clare ValleysDrive past acres of vines nestled on the hillsides of the Barossa and Clare valleys before making your way through Jamestown, home of the The world’s first plantation forest. Orroroo, population 540, is the quintessential Australian outback town. From Orroroo it’s a comfortable drive via Hawker and into the Flinders Ranges National Park and Wilpena Pound Resort.
Route 02 - Outback AustraliaExperience South Australia and the Outback. Stopping at Clare you have the opportunity to see the town that gave the name to the Clare Valley wine making regions. Melrose is the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges, and in 1848 had the largest police district in the world. Quorn is the home of the Pichi Richi Historic Railway and early settlement in South Australia.
Route 03 - Ports of South AustraliaPorts make an vital contribution to the nation. Port Wakefield was the first government town to be established north of Adelaide and has many historical buildings. Port Pirie, depicts a lifestyle centred on the waters of the Spencer Gulf. Port Augusta is commonly known as the crossroads of Australia, where roads from Adelaide, the Flinders Ranges, Alice Springs, and Perth intersect.

We offer a school group rate of $8 p/p, p/night for unpowered campsites only, for bookings of 10 or more people.
Situated inside the Flinders Ranges National Park, the Wilpena Pound Campground covers 50 hectares set amongst river red gums, native pines and abundant wildlife. Located just a short walk from the entrance to Wilpena Pound, the campground is a perfect base for exploring the area. In this natural bush setting, you will encounter kangaroos and emus grazing and wedge-tail eagles soaring overhead.
