Founded in 1990, The Education Foundation of Collier County is an independent not-for-profit 501 (c)(3)

organization. We are committed to ensuring a quality education for every child.

A core value in our work is that through teachers, we can reach more children and significantly impact their learning.

We listen to teachers, principals, parents, students and community members to respond to needs and provide

support that will contribute to student success.

how wE do it

• Building Bridges Educator Corps allows teachers and principals from every school to work with each other and the community.

• Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program allows the community to recognize and thank excellent teachers.

• Connect With a Classroom Grant Program provides the opportunity for teachers to request support for innovative classroom ideas.

• www.GetOnTheBusCollier.org provides opportunities for students and families, educators and schools, and the community to connect and match interests and resources.

• Connect Now Community Engagement Initiative has resulted in a Community Statement for education and ongoing, productive conversations.

• Take Stock in Children Scholarship and Mentoring Program provides deserving students with the oppor-tunity to further their education and contribute to the community.

• Family Literacy / Parent Engage-ment Grants support schools in working with parents to foster student success.

• Music Grants provide instruments for students and create programs that bring partners together around music education and its benefits for academic success.

The Education Foundation strengthens funding and collaboration to fulfill the changing needs in education, and ensures that resources are connected to results by providing leadership with accountability.

1,500 teachers and principals have participated in profes-sional development and networking opportunities.

$3.5 million has been invested directly in schools through grants to 7,000 teachers allowing 178,000 students to benefit.

75 students have already earned a scholarship for college or technical training, and 130 students are currently in the Collier Take Stock in Children Scholarship and Mentoring program.

Thousands of parents, students and younger siblings have been engaged in academic success through a $1 million investment in school-based family literacy programs.
