Agenda items may be moved into Closed Session for discussion when it becomes apparent that a Closed Session is appropriate under Section 19.85 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The regular monthly meeting of the Education, Services, and Student Success
Committee of the Milwaukee Area Technical College District Board was held in open session on Tuesday, March 15, 2015, and called to order by Ms. Mary Scheibel at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room, Room M210, at the Milwaukee Campus of Milwaukee Area Technical College.

F-1 Pathway Update – Electronics Pathway – Attachment 2
Discussion: Dr. Mohammad Dakwar, provost, introduced Ms. Dorothy Walker, dean, and Ms. Terese Dressel, associate dean, School of Technology and Applied Sciences. Ms. Dressel introduced Mr. Thomas Heraly and Mr. Dave Schmocker, faculty, Electronics Pathway. Mr. Heraly briefly described the history of the program as well as current initiatives. There are 4 tracks within this Program Pathway; Electronics Technology, Computer Electronics Technology, Biomedical Electronics Technology and Electronic Engineering Technology with a common core to start with. Mr. Schmocker briefly talked about the dashboards and faculty currency for the program. There was a discussion related to the obstacles for students getting into this program: visibility of the career and math skills.

Discussion: a. Promise Update
Dr. Trevor Kubatzke, vice president, Student Services noted that Summer registration begins the first week of April. Promise orientations and registration sessions will be held in early May. Today is the deadline for Promise Students to submit their FAFSA applications.

Discussion: Dr. Dakwar introduced Dr. Yan Wang and Cheralyn Randall and they briefly described the slides in the presentation.
F3 International Student Recruitment and Education
Discussion: Dr. Dakwar briefly highlighted contacts being made with other local colleges and universities and exploring best practices. Dr. Kubatzke talked about a contact that has been made with hotcourses.com and plans for building this population.
