Welcome new candidates

Do you have an ORCID?
All staff should have an ORCiD and FoR Codes in their CRO/PURE profile. There is a library guide covering information about CRO profiles and ORCiD and everyone is strongly encouraged to do this. You can find the video guide here - linking CRO and ORCiD. More and more journals and funding bodies are requiring an ORCID, so get in early!
Research Professional Australia -Online Training sessions 2018
Research Professional is pleased to invite you to a series of live online broadcast training sessions. Each session will provide an introduction to the Research Professional platform, demonstrate how to locate funding opportunities that match your interests and show how to set up email alerts to keep you informed of new developments.
You can view these demonstrations from your own PC and choose to receive sound either via you computer’s mic and speakers, or by phoning in to a voice conference. You will be able to ask the presenter questions using a text chat feature. The times for these sessions are given in two time zones, AEST (Sydney) and NZST (Auckland). Please check the start time in your own time zone before registering.

Thinking Qualitatively Workshop Series
This two-day research workshop will be held on February 17-18 with the International Institute of Qualitative Methods from the University of Alberta, Canada, at ANU in Canberra.
This workshop will be useful for improving academic writing, planning qualitative research proposals, and understanding qualitative methods. The presenters are international (Clark and Sousa), local (Phillips, Smith, Aroni) and from interstate (Palmer, Given).

Free retreat opportunity for 18-29 year olds interested in climate change, 12-16 APRIL 2018
Are you aged 18-29 and interested in:
* doing something about climate change?
* sharing ideas and meeting new people?
* making new & creative climate communications?
* being inspired and nurtured?
If so, then why not apply for the Climate Action Retreat in St. Gilgen, Austria, 12 -16 April 2018? Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
ABOUT THE RETREAT
During the retreat you will learn more about how to communicate about climate change in creative, stimulating, exciting ways. Together with other young people engaged in climate change, and supported by multi-media professionals and scientists, you will design new climate media formats to be shared with the community as creative commons. With this retreat we aim to discover some exciting new creative methods to open up new horizons for climate change communication.
You will work with a range of campaigners and researchers as well as people who are new to the movement. This international retreat brings people from different countries at different stages of their environmental journey together to share and reflect on challenges. The programme will provide enough time for nature experience, reflection and exchange with other participants (through sunrise hikes, evening yoga etc.) to refresh and nurture our creative potential and to leave the retreat with loads of new ideas, impressions and a new network for future actions.
The retreat is being organised by an international network of researchers and facilitators:

ONCA art & environment charity and gallery, UK Climate Media Factory, Germany Austrian Youth Environment platform Austrian Environmental Agency University of Brighton Media Researchers University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources, Vienna.
