    S FOR

    OUR PEN PALS, ecause

    our children

    do

    we have

    see that

the number of pen pals can soon

    mount

    Our

    children

    have

    a

    very

    busy schedule.

    They rise at 5:30 a.m.

    and have

    chores as well

    as

    their

    work. They are in

    school

    from

    9:00

    t i l l 4:00 p.m . and have a Bible

    class

    from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

one day a week in addition. Our evening meal

    is

    served at 5:00

    p . m .

    and we have daily devotions

    for

    the children before their

    bedtime at

    7:00

    p.m.; so you

    can

    see that t h e i r

    free

    time is very

    limited.

    They do

    need to have some time

    for

    recreation, too.

    So

    Dear

    Friends,

    February 15 went to

    Mount

    Alyeska f o r the Alaskan

    Ski

    Races. I thought I

    would

    be there

    four

    days.

    Instead

    I

    stayed

    t h e r e

    f o r

a week and one day. I had

    lots of

    fun

    and new experiences

    there.

    At Alyeska there i s a chair

    l i f t

    that i s

    a

    mile long. I t

    takes about

    15

    minutes

    to

    get

    to

    the top. There are several

    t r a i l s you can

    follow

    once you get

    to

    t h e top. The one I

    like

    to

    take i s the one

    called the racing

    the

    I t

    i s

    long

    and you can g o

    as fast

    as

    you want.

While I was at Mt. Alyeska the snow was between 13

    and

    Midway

    h e r e were n i n e - a n d - o n e -

    a r e two rope tows, o r

    a Puma if t

    the

    l i f t .

They are a l l fun to use.

    All t h e workers, l i f t operators, t h e

    On

We invited the Middletons — our

    neighbors

    road.

    We

    had

    delicious sandwiches and

    soups. For dessert

    we

    had cake alamode and sundaes.

    CHILDREN SPAGE

THIS PAGE S FOR OUR PEN PALS, because our children do

    Children from

    like

    children. So you can

    s e e that the n u m b e r

    of

pen pals can soon mount up. Our children

    have a

    very

chores as w ell as their school work. They are in
