• No more bad handwriting to decipher• Fewer keying errors with validation rules• Fewer keying errors with validation rules• Data is entered once and then passed along
to all necessary partners.• No more paper!
What is the cost for TraCS?
• WI DOT pays an annual licensing fee
($35,000) for the whole state.
• Software is free to local law
enforcement. They just need an
MDC and printer in their squads.
• No fees are charged to recipients of
the citation data from the web
service.
Specific Benefits to DOT
• TraCS has allowed DOT to achieve significant
savings in both staff time and keying costs
since 2005. They are saving over $70,000
keying costs annually, as citations are reported
electronically to the DOT.
• Expanded use of TraCS and electronic data
exchange has allowed Wisconsin to comply with
49 CFR 384.209 which requires states to post
convictions on the record of a commercial
driver within ten days of adjudication.
