Rapid Demountable Platform (RDP)快速安裝平台
A safe, quick and easy to install/dismantle temporary working platform for working outside high-rise buildings
一個安全、快速、容易裝拆並適用於高空外牆維修的臨時工作平台
香港大部分建築，如需維修外牆、高空工作等，都依賴外牆固定支
架支撐，配合竹枝及木板以搭建臨時工作平台 ( 照片 1 )，以進行
工作。然而，這種傳統模式的安全性極不可靠。過去三年內已發生
十宗從高處墜下的致命事故，情況令人關注。
因此，理大與建築業界共同研發此快速安裝平台 ( 照片 2 )，希望
解決上述問題，為檢查、維修和保養高樓外牆提供一個安全、易裝
拆的臨時工作平台 ( 照片 3 ) 。
The conventional practice in Hong Kong for undertaking outdoor
building repair and maintenance works at height is to erect temporary
working platforms by way of bamboo truss-out scaffolds supported
by steel brackets fixed on external walls (see Photo 1). However, the
installation method and working safety associated with this practice
is highly unreliable. Ten fatal falls resulted in past three years.
Collaborating with industry practitioners the RDP was designed as
an alternative/supplement (see Photo 2) to overcome such problems.
It provides a safe, rapidly installed/demountable temporary working
platform for inspection, repair and maintenance works on external
walls of high-rise buildings. (see Photo 3).

The RDP is particularly adaptable to small-scale repair and maintenance works outside high-rise buildings vis-à-vis:
• External building inspections
• Installation of canopies, ventilation and air - conditioning units etc.
• Maintenance of plumbing/drainage systems
• External plastering, rendering, painting and tiling etc.
• Repair to water seepage/leakage at windows & walls
