EFF CHRISTMAS MESSAGE Thursday, 24 December 2020 The Economic Freedom Fighters wishes all Africans in the country, the continent and the diaspora a Revolutionary Christmas and a prosperous New Year. In the midst of the global pandemic, we urge all members of society to keep safe and practice kindness, empathy and consideration for all those around us during what is a festive season clouded by loss and sadness. May we practice the spirit of Ubuntu and help those who are needy without expecting recognition or anything in return. On this day which signifies the birth of Christ, may we use his values to guide how we reflect on the past year and forge into 2021. We encourage South Africans to be overcome by a spirit of justice rather than complacency in poverty and corruption. We encourage young people to disrupt the status quo should it denigrate he land of Africans and it’s people and may poverty and squalor cease to define black people in the land of their birth. As COVID-19 ravages poor communities, we urge all those who have to give to those who do not. Whenever able to, those who have in society must donate clothes, a meal or any necessary amenities to the poor, whose festive season is no different from their daily realities. Our thoughts are with those who are without families, are with those who do not know where their next meal is going to come from and those who cannot return to their homes as a result of trauma or abuse. We must renew our commitment of uprooting Gender-Based Violence in all of its manifestations and never adopt a ‘mind your own business attitude’ in the face of the abuse of women and children.

EFF CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Thursday, 24 December 2020

The Economic Freedom Fighters wishes all Africans in the country, the continent and the

diaspora a Revolutionary Christmas and a prosperous New Year. In the midst of the global

pandemic, we urge all members of society to keep safe and practice kindness, empathy and

consideration for all those around us during what is a festive season clouded by loss and

sadness.

May we practice the spirit of Ubuntu and help those who are needy without expecting

recognition or anything in return. On this day which signifies the birth of Christ, may we use

his values to guide how we reflect on the past year and forge into 2021. We encourage South

Africans to be overcome by a spirit of justice rather than complacency in poverty and

corruption. We encourage young people to disrupt the status quo should it denigrate he land

of Africans and it’s people and may poverty and squalor cease to define black people in the

land of their birth.

As COVID-19 ravages poor communities, we urge all those who have to give to those who do

not. Whenever able to, those who have in society must donate clothes, a meal or any

necessary amenities to the poor, whose festive season is no different from their daily realities.

Our thoughts are with those who are without families, are with those who do not know where

their next meal is going to come from and those who cannot return to their homes as a result

of trauma or abuse. We must renew our commitment of uprooting Gender-Based Violence in

all of its manifestations and never adopt a ‘mind your own business attitude’ in the face of

the abuse of women and children.

In this festive season, let us all be cognizant of our landless and the oppressive conditions

that overdetermine our lives. This festive season we must reflect on the fact that almost half

of the population is unemployed, that graduates loiter our streets with large debt and

qualifications and that farm workers live like livestock in the land that they work. We must

accept that a white-minority parades our country with a sense of entitlement, bullying and

killing black people and institutions at will, while protected by a decaying former liberation

movement.

There must never be a period where we forget our realities, of migrant labour and

underdevelopment of our rural areas, where our parents, grandmothers and siblings reside.

We must mark this festive season as one of not abandoning our communities or forget the

pain of being black in South Africa, rather it must be a festive season in which we renew our

commitment to justice and Economic Freedom.

We encourage everyone to remain safe in the midst of the deadly Corona Virus, and take of

their health, sanitizing and wearing their mask whenever they leave their homes. We must

survive this deadly pandemic in order to see the original sin of land dispossession being

reversed in our lifetime.

A Revolutionary Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Stay Safe!
