What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is an annual day intended to inspire awareness

and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment.

Events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for

environmental protection. Since 1970, Earth Day is

celebrated on April 22 and is observed in175 countries.

program, Egg Harbor Twp Schools has saved over:

17,612,232 million kWh of Electricity

748,145 thousand therms of Natural Gas and

305,000 gallons of Water

These savings equate to:• Preventing 8,351 Metric Tons of CO2• Removing 1740 automobiles for an entire year• Planting 214,120 tree seedlings for 10 years
