Get the safety and peace of mind that comeswith an advanced flight-safety system, credited with more than 30 aircraft saves.
Protection against CFIT Honeywell Enhanced Ground Proximity
Warning Systems (EGPWS) provides
comprehensive flight safety. Our system
uses a highly integrated and field-proven
combination of classic Controlled Flight
Into Terrain (CFIT) modes and enhanced
terrain look-ahead capabilities to provide
superior performance. Honeywell
EGPWS maximizes safety across a broad
range of flight conditions by keeping
more layers of protection active, thus
providing more warning time for pilots to
execute a safe recovery.
A system for every aircraft. With solutions certified on more than 250
aircraft types, the Honeywell Enhanced
Ground Proximity Warning System is a
leading aviation safety solution.
Whatever you fly, a Honeywell EGPWS
provides one of the most technologically
advanced solutions available.
Why choose Honeywell?Simple: safety! Honeywell is a leading
provider of safety equipment focused on
reducing the risk of CFIT accidents.

Features and capabilities:Feature sets vary by EGPWS model;
refer to individual product brochures for
the exact features and specifications for
each model.
Worldwide terrain, airport, and obstacle
databaseHoneywells exclusive
database contains more than 12,000
airports, 30,000 runways, and 108,000
obstacles throughout North America,
Europe, and Asia. The industry's most
mature, and global database
seamlessly integrates with
sophisticated monitoring, alerting, and
warning algorithms, reducing nuisance
alerts to less than 1 in 150,000 flight
hours and decreasing the risk of a
possible CFIT or runway incursion
incident. The database conforms to
WGS84 standards.
Internal GPS card optionWhen an
external GPS source is not available,
this option gives any aircraft the
position and altitude accuracy needed
to ensure that EGPWS provides the
best operation possible.
Geometric altitude-Provides
independent Mean Sea Level (MSL)
altitude using multiple sources.
Geometric altitude is independent of
atmospheric errors, temperature, non-
standard atmosphere, incorrect
altimeter settings and altitude reference
system.
Engineered and built to the highest standards,Honeywells EGPWS delivers reliable andproven real-world Performancesaving morethan 30 aircraft and all the lives on board.
Compatible displaysEGPWS systems work seamlessly with
any color display from any manufacturer.
So you can continue to use the display
already on your aircraft. But when
considering displays for new cockpits,
repairs, or retrofits, remember Honeywell
quality:
Multifunction Radar Display (MFRD)
A low-cost, high-reliability solution that
transforms your weather radar display
into a state-of the-art, multifunction
Active Matrix LCD.
TRA 45A Terrain Display/Radio Altitude
IndicatorA compact unit that
combines terrain display and radio
altitude data to maximize limited
instrument panel space.
Peaks ModeHigh terrain more than
2,000 feet below is clearly visible while
cruising, providing greater situational
awareness during initial descent or in
the event of unplanned descent.
Vertical situation displayWith
compatible displays, EGPWS provides
a vertical display of the aircraft flight
profile.
Automatic runway selectionRunway
picker independently selects the
intended runway, reducing the risk of
landing short where there are multiple
runways. It also significantly reduces
those exposed areas around runways
where there would be no warning for
landing off the runway.
Look-ahead alert/warning algorithms
These dynamic, highly sophisticated
algorithms monitor aircraft systems and
performance ahead of and along your
current flight path, providing pilots the
most reaction time possible while
virtually eliminating nuisance alerts.
Runway and terrain clearance floors
These altitude alerts work seamlessly to
provide protection against landing short
of a runway or descending into no
airport. Utilizing Geometric Altitude, the
EGPWS monitors altitude above the
airfield and provides alerts when an
aircraft prematurely descends below
the normal approach slope.
Envelope modulationIn geographic
locations with extreme terrain, envelope
modulation of the classic GPWS modes
reduces nuisance warnings and
provides added alerting time where
needed.
Automatic altitude calloutsOn
approach and landing, voice callouts
advise current altitude, increasing pilot
awareness.
Pseudo radio altitudeThis function
greatly reduces unwanted GPWS
warnings caused by loss of track in the
radio altimeter while flying through
heavy rain or hail, or over another
aircraft.
Bank angle warningDuring
maneuvering on approach or climb out,
and while at altitude, the bank angle
feature provides protection for over-
banking. It also protects against wing or
engine strikes close to the runway.
Windshear detectionTwo alerting
envelopes provide either a caution or a
warning with distinctive aural and visual
indications if the aircraft encounters
windshear.
Radar AutoTiltThe weather radar
antenna angle automatically adjusts to
the aircraft flight profile and terrain
information provided by the EGPWS.
This reduces terrain clutter while
highlighting weather buildups,
maximizing weather radar effectiveness,
and reducing pilot workload. (Requires
compatible weather radar.)
Runway Awareness and Advisory
System (RAAS)An optional software
extension for Mark V and VII EGPWS
models, RAAS increases pilot
awareness, lowering the probability of
runway incursions during taxi, takeoff,
final approach, landing, and rollout.
Outperforms all competing systems.Safety, Reliability, Proven Performance
Honeywell strives to provide advanced
safety solutions to our customers. Since
