Opened with three consecutive top-10s to begin his 2020 calendar year - T10/Sentry Tournament of Champions, 2/Farmers Insurance Open, T9/Waste Management Phoenix Open. Led into the final round at the Farmers Insurance Open but was edged by Marc Leishman who closed with a 65.

Shot a third-round 61 en route to a T3 at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship, his third career top-three result in WGCs. 61 included a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th, the second of his career.

Claimed his fourth career PGA TOUR title at the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide which propelled him to No. 1 on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career. Extended his streak of consecutive seasons with a victory to four. Held a four-stroke lead entering the final round and improved to 1-for-3 converting the 54-hole lead/co-lead to victory. Under Rule 9.4, was assessed a General Penalty (two strokes) after a ball at rest moved on the par-3 16th in the final round, changing his score on the hole from a birdie to a bogey.

After missing the cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge in the first Return to Golf event in June, he has made seven straight cuts and finished solo sixth at THE NORTHERN TRUST, the first event of the FedExCup Playoffs.

Overcame a six-stroke deficit after 36 holes to claim his fifth PGA TOUR title and second of the season at the BMW Championship. Carded a final-round 64 and landed in a playoff with Dustin Johnson, whom he defeated on the first hole of sudden death after holing a birdie putt from 66 feet.

Will be making his fourth consecutive appearance in the TOUR Championship, finishing T7 in 2017, T11 in 2018 and T12 last season. Has broken par on eight occasions in 12 career rounds at East Lake.

Finished T6 at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship. Held the 54-hole lead before shooting a final-round 73, falling to 4-for-7 for his career with the outright 54-hole lead and 0-for-2 at the event.

Lost to Collin Morikawa in a playoff at the Workday Charity Open, his first runner-up of the season and fourth of his career. Since the return to golf, and despite sitting out for a week after testing positive for COVID-19, English has made six of seven cuts, only missing narrowly in his first tournament back at Colonial, and his worst finish is T-23 at the Wyndham.

Became the first player from Norway to win on the PGA TOUR with his first career victory at the Puerto Rico Open. Win came in his 17th career start on TOUR at age 22 years, 158 days. Became the fourth player since 1990 to win the U.S. Amateur and on the PGA TOUR before turning 23, joining Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and David Gossett.

Finished third at the Workday Charity Open, his second top-three finish of his career. Co-led the field in Birdies (24). Played in the final grouping with Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.

Finished T18 in the first FedExCup Playoffs event at THE NORTHERN TRUST to jump up two spots to No. 24 to improve his chances of qualifying for his first TOUR Championship.

Earned his first top-10 in a major championship in his third appearance, finishing T10 at the PGA Championship. Led the field in Driving Distance (321.1 yards) and co-led in Par-5 Scoring Average (4.13).
