(Humbert 2005)

Zur Integration einer Informatischen Bildung weltweit
Studie an der TU Dresden (2007) Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Polen, Frankreich, Portugal, Ungarn, Estland, Litauen, Finnland, Japan, Neuseeland, Philippinen • Basiskonzepte(?) zum Umgang mit IKT in vielen Ländern • oft IKT verpflichtend in Primarschule (integrativ,
Textverarbeitung und Wissensrecherche) • in SI häufig IKT auch als eigenständiges Fach; ergänzend in anderen Fächern Computer Science education international comparism (2011) England and Wales, Scotland, USA, Israel, New Zealand, Germany, India, South Korea, Greece • Offizielle ICT Standards sind weit verbreitet • Offizielle Computer Science Curricula/Empfehlungen existieren meist, aber • Computer Science wird als (eigenständiges) Fach meist nur optional angeboten

Argumente für die Notwendigkeit einer FIT-Kompetenz
• Personal (Privat) • Access to the world‘s digital information and the means to process it
• Use of digital life style products
• Keep in contact with family and friends
• Manage finances …
• Workforce (Beruf) • Understand ubiquitious office information technologies
• Apply IT to business and industrial problems
• Know common features and differences (abstractly)
• Educational (Fort- und Weiterbildung) • Use new types of education opportunities (resources, communication channel …)
• Build intellectual structures by transforming abstractions into representations via programming
• Develop and exercise critical thinking abilities
• Societal (Gesellschaft) • Be informed about IT and its social effects (freedom, world connectivity, loss of remoteness,
alienation, predominance of english)
• Know how to evaluate social impact of IT and when to complain

Projektbeispiele
• Develop a business plan for a computer software and hardware store in a mall.
• Design an information system to track HIV infections for a community hospital and its outreach clinics.
• Complete a simple yet useful database that has been started by teaching assistants. The work will focus on the user interface aspect of the system. Design the final product to be a visually attractive database that a bank could use to keep track of clients and their accounts.
• Create a home budget that a typical family could use to track their income and expenditures over the course of a year.
• Use network facilities on the World Wide Web to present and find information.

Argumentation im ACM-Curriculum CS (2011)
• There is an urgent need to improve the level of public understanding of computer science …
• To function in society, every citizen in the 21st century must understand at least the principles of computer science.
• A fundamental understanding of computer science enables students to be both educated consumers of technology and innovative creators …
• All of today’s students will go on to live a life heavily influenced by computing, and many will work in fields that directly involve computing. They must begin to work with algorithmic problem solving and computational methods and tools in K–12.
• Computer science students learn logical reasoning, algorithmic thinking, design and structured problem solving—all concepts and skills that are valuable well beyond the computer science classroom.
