What do you want? “The answer is always Jesus, right, Jerry?” Well yes, it is, but that is like giving the spoiler away of a mystery novel or movie. The end of our search is Jesus, but we keep forgetting this. So we have to learn the Gospel again. This “good story” of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is something that we forget often but always come home to when our desires get out of whack. What do you want? The human appetite is massive. We have a tremendous capacity to want and to consume. But as any sober alcoholic or returned prodigal will tell you, noth-ing ever really satisfies. Whether it’s the attention of the opposite sex, grasps for power, unbridled ambition, lust of the flesh, or being in-the-know with juicy gossip, none of it gives us the satisfaction. The objects of our desire just pull us further down the path of numbness and boredom, which ultimately leads us to deeper and darker desires. What do you want? We have an eternal appetite because we were made to worship with our whole person an eternal God. Our desires come from every part of our humanity: our emotions, our body, and our mind. The Bible when speaking of our total humanity refers to our heart. Augustine in his biography said to God in prayer: “Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee”. The human heart will worship anything if it does not find rest in the worship of Christ. What do you want? You want to worship. You want to find purpose in your suffering, en-couragement when you are weak, and meaning in the confusing desires of our culture and world. You want to give of yourself to others where there is a need. You want to see God working through you making sense of all your failures. You want to know that your past sins and future weakness are washed away. “So you are saying that religion will solve all our problems?” No, I am saying Jesus will. Who do you want? This is the real question. To fill our infinite appetites we need an infi-nite love. To worship with our full humanity we need a fully human Christ. To give us hope of transformation we need a fully God Christ. In Him, we have everything we need and more than we could possibly desire. In other words, only in Him are we satisfied and will we be satisfied. Only the one who created humanity can give everything that humani-ty needs. Only the total Christ perfect in all his ways and the revelation of God will change us to something more. Seeing that we have such a Christ that changes everything in us, let us drink from this fountain and no other. May Jesus Christ satisfy the deepest and strongest yearnings in your heart today! As was announced during the worship services on March 20

th, the 2016 LCPC Mission Trip will be to the

New Wilmington Mission Conference in New Wilmington, Pa. the week of July 23-30. The New Wilmington Mission Conference (NWMC) is a multi-generational conference that looks to deepen the missionary spirit and seeks to live out the Great Commission. At NWMC mission interpretation meets the duty and ideal of proclaiming the gospel to all the world and making disciples of all peoples through worship, education, and hands-on service. NWMC has been blessed with an amazing heritage and, through the grace of God, has been showing attendees how to be ambassadors for Christ for over 110 years. The Outreach Committee views this as a tremendous opportunity for members of LCPC to be exposed to ministries and missionaries from around the globe; and to fellowship with brothers and sisters from like congregations who are wrestling with how to be missional in their own communities. It is our goal to send a “team” of at least 16 individuals to NWMC this year, so we will be providing $125 toward the registration fees of each attendee junior-high age or older (6

th grade or older). The cost to attend Conference ranges

The stated meeting of the Session of Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church was called to order in Hallelujah Hall on February 18, 2016 at 7 P.M. by the Moderator, Rev Jerry Fourroux. The meeting was constituted with prayer by Pastor Fourroux. A quorum was present. A devotion was provided by Dick Boehret. The minutes of the January 2016 meeting were approved. The reports of the General Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Benevolence Treasurer were presented covering the period from January 1, 2016 to January 31st, 2016. The reports were received and filed for audit. Pastor's Report: Pastor Fourroux provided Session with a written report from the recent Synod Meeting. Session also discussed Chapter two of Lasting Impact. The Sacrament of Holy Communion was celebrated at both worship services on January 3rd, 2016. The Valentine’s Day Dinner appeared to be a success and was well attended with over 100 people served. The Administration Committee reported that they are working on revamping the church website. They also reported that two individuals were interviewed for the Youth Coordinator position and recommend to Session that Luke Justice be hired. A motion was made by Session to approve Luke Justice as the Youth Coordinator with pay and hours to be as previously discussed and approved. The motion carried. The devotions for the next meeting are the responsibility of Elder John Stugrin. There being no further business to come before Session, the meeting was adjourned with prayer by Rev.
