We have had a long term working relaon- ship with these two Districts from Brazil. Tina and Maria ( Front Row with Deb Peterson) came to the US to aend the NAYAN conven- on in Lile Rock, AR. They were here to visit Paul Kalainoff and Dennis and Deb Peterson. We hosted a small gathering on Monday night at Deb and my home. Present were As- sistant District Governor, Doug and Lou Peterson, Glen and Jean Keppy, Paul and Susan Kalainoff, Robin and Julia members of Ia Quad Cies Rotary, and exchange student Giles from Belgium. Valentine Party Last Friday we celebrated Valen#ne’s Day at

the Steeplegate. Musical entertainment was

provided by students from Central High

School, under the direc#on of Mike Reese.

Mike is the husband of North Sco. Rotary

member Angela Reese.

Special lunch was prepared, cupcakes and

chocolates we enjoyed by all. The Ladies who are members of our club and the significant

others of members took home a rose.

Community Needs The Community Needs Commi.ee recently approved support to the following groups in our communi#es.

This is the first half distribu#on, and is in addi#on to our Dona#ons to, Youth Exchange, Youth Projects, Inter-

na#onal Projects, Presiden#al Projects and Scholarships.

$13,800 has already been awarded to these previous projects. Along with the projects listed below total-

ing $24,300. We s#ll have about $15,000 to be awarded in the Spring.

Mary Jane Canney Midgett has been approved by the Board of Directors and Classification Committee for membership. She is Director of Operations for the State of Iowa for Iowa American Water Company. She is proposed by Charlie Jones. Mary Jane resides in Bettendorf with her husband and son. She is active in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Go Red for Women and the Family Youth Center. LAST MEETING – February 13, 2015 – Valentine Celebration Eighty seven members and guests attended on Friday the 13th. Rotarians present were: Myron Scheibe, Moline Rotary and Scott Naumann, Bettendorf Rotary. Angela and Michael Reese lined up six talented singers from the Davenport Central High School Show Choir for our enjoyment. Cupcakes, chocolates and roses were available for all to enjoy. Bill Puck and Linda Tubbs were recognized as honorary members of North Scott Rotary. Eric Langan was the sergeant and collected $42 in fines.
