RadiaBeam Technologies is committed to delivering the highest quality components for accelerator systems. Our portfolio is enhanced by licensing agreements with UCLA's Particle Beam Physics Laboratory, and by proven designs and drawings acquired from X–Gamma Corporation.

RadiaBeam provides individual magnets, systems — including chicanes and final focus lattices — and complete beamlines. We have standard designs as well as fully custom systems.

On the following pages, we show a sampling of our standard offerings. Our electromagnets can be configured with a variety of terminations, sensors, and finishes.

A sophisticated solenoid model designed specifically for RF photoinjectors. The variable field profile allows for optimization of emittance compensation for electron beam energy ranges up to 8 MeV. Coil pancakes in the magnet can be individually powered to adjust solenoid strength and to provide electronic centerline adjustment in the tuning range of ± 3.5 cm, with a peak field up to 0.6 T.

This solenoid features an innovative cooling geometry that avoids the low flow and clogging problems of past designs.

Fixed and fully adjustable stands are available for beamline integration.

A basic picture frame steering magnet that has become the staple for correction of beams under 100 MeV. It features an iron core and two independently powered pairs of coils (for X and Y steering). A plastic clamp is available for easy magnet assembly and positioning around the standard 1.5" beam pipe. The optional post mount allows for positioning from a table or girder.

These magnets are easily powered by bipolar or relay switched unipolar supplies of a few volts and up to 10 amps. Degaussing is not required for all but the most demanding applications.

RadiaBeam has a variety of dipole magnets designs suitable for a range of electron beam applications. Our dipoles can be used asstand-alone bending magnets, or as part of a chicane compressor or spectrometer system. All the dipoles are subject to thorough numerical analysis at the regime of operation specified by the customer, including: non-linearity of the response, fringe field effects and edge focusing characteristics.

A custom vacuum chamber design can be incorporated into the systems engineering, if requested. Large dynamic range beam energy spectrometers can be developed that include imaging optics and diagnostics. For all RadiaBeam dipoles, additional trim coils are available to simplify the degaussing routine and for fine beam manipulations. Higher field value magnets are available in a water-cooled configuration.

A popular quadrupole model designed for high gradients, low multipole content, and compact size. As with other RadiaBeam magnets, the pole tips are CNC machined to the ideal form rather than approximated by straight cuts.

A variety of bore sizes and coil packs are available to suit the demands of injector beamlines. The octagon quadrupoles are in operation in multiple laboratories worldwide, including LLNL, FNL, DESY.

Our round quads are the most compact transverse and longitudinal design for small footprint applications. Unlike diamond and octagonal quads, this design does not scale to larger bore sizes; yet, it is very popular for compact beamlines, utilizing standard 1.5 inch diameter vacuum tubes.

Sextupoles are finding more frequent application in high brightness beamlines to correct chromatic aberrations and to linearize dispersive transport lines.

These magnets, on lincense from UCLA, demand tight machining tolerances, but produce superior field profiles.
