Motor Rewinding

The Electromechanical Service Center machine shop has the ability to handle allfacets of a repair job in house, with little dependence on outside resources. Thiscapability means better responsiveness, faster turn around time and tighter qualitycontrol. Using cutting-edge technology and equipment, our experienced machinistssupport our repair-related needs while providing a variety of machine services to abroad spectrum of customers.

A factory authorized repair center for many major motor manufacturers, EMR iscommitted to maximum quality and economical, rapid turnaround. One of the manyways we consistently achieve that goal is through 24-hour service, which ensuresextra-ordinary response to our customer’s needs.

We were one of the first companies in the nation to use the vacuum pressureimpregnation (VPI) system of insulating repaired electrical apparatus as a normalprocedure. VPI provides maximum reliability and cooler running motors by achiev-ing superior void fill in the windings.

Although many shops have discontinued small motor repair services, EMR hasnot. All jobs, no matter how small, receive the highest level of attention.

To ensure responsiveness to your needs, computer software developed by EMRpersonnel lets you know the status of your equipment at a moment’s notice.

Initial testing and inspection determines whether a motor should be re-placed or repaired. When repair is indicated, the rewinding process begins. After stripping, cleaning and further testing, replacement coils manufacturedin our coil shop are installed when rewinding is called for.

The quality of the coils we manufacture is the highest available on themarket, meeting or exceeding all manufacturer and user specifications. Wheremost standards require a class F insulation, our coil jobs carry a class Hrating to provide maximum longevity for the most severe applications. Infact, Electric Motor Repair & Sales (EMR) rewinds, using our coils and ourown VPI process, have had an extraordinary reliability history.

Teardown and Testing: (Left) After initial testingand inspection, motors are stripped and readiedfor repair. (Center) Rotors and coils are testedand replacement coils (Right) are manufacturedin our coil shop to exacting standards.
