Critical Success FactorsCritical Success Factors (CSF’s) tell you when your company as a whole is on track for meeting goals that support the overall vision. You can think of them as “Company Success Factors.”

Ex. A shoe company wants to sell 100,000 pairs of shoes in order to reach it’s objective of generating enough revenue to open another store by next year.

Key Performance IndicatorsKey Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are specific, measurable points that tell you when a person is successfully contributing to the CSF’s.

Ex. Each sales associate is expected to sell at least 30 pairs of shoes in order to for the company to make it’s goal of 100,000 sales this year.

Top to Bottom, Bottom to TopIn confirming alignment, go through each piece of the pyramid periodically from Vision downward, and from Actions upward.

Ask yourself:

Are your employees doing what is necessary to support their teams?

Are the teams being managed effectively to reach company goals?

Is the company going in the direction you’re intending it to?
