Emphasis transfer • Limited to incoming 9th grade students

TRANSPORTATION• Transportation is provided to eligible in-zone students
living more than two miles from the school.• Transportation is not provided for out-of-zone Program
of Emphasis students.• Approved out-of-zone transfer students may apply
for transportation through the Ticket to Ride program (bit.ly/SCPSTicketToRide). Through this program it is possible that a student may be granted access to pre-existing bus routes (pending space availability). This program does not create bus stops or bus routes and is not guaranteed for the duration of the transfer.
WHAT IS FORENSIC SCIENCE?Students in the Forensic Science track gain experience in Crime Scene Investigation, Evidence Collection and Processing through engaging hands-on activities. Forensic Scientists use groundbreaking scientific technology, analytical thought processes and careful examination of detail to give reliable and testable evidence in criminal investigations. This program will allow students to gain skills and experiences that will help them prepare for careers as Crime Scene Investigator, Medical Examiner, Forensic Technician and more!

WHAT IS LEGAL STUDIES?Students in the Legal Studies track learn the foundations of our legal system while developing an understanding of how those foundations continue to shape and guide our society today. Students will learn about some of the most famous and controversial cases in history and will have the opportunity to come to their own conclusions about the outcomes of those cases. This program will allow students to gain skills and experiences that will help them prepare for careers as Attornies, Judges, Paralegals, Law Enforcement Officers and more!
HOW DOES THIS PROGRAMCONNECT TO THE
Real World?The Program of Emphasis works with professional community members to ensure real world connections. Students will be analyzing recent case and evidential information to substantiate or refute guilt and innocence. Students will gain critical thinking and research skills that only come from being guided, challenged, and working through real world problems to obtain answers.
