The Challenge

5

Data Centers, Network Closets, Remote Office and CloudComputing applications are inefficient, expensive to buildand operate, and don’t scale well to match business andinfrastructure needs.

∙ Huge construction costs (Up to $1,300/sq ft)∙ Long time to build (up to 24 months)∙ Have to build the whole thing up front and hope IT catches up∙ Inefficient = high cost to operate

Critical IT Facility Issues

20

Critical Problem 1

Problem: Upfront capital cost associated with facility infrastructure deploymentEffect of Problem: Facilities built for future needs inefficient and expensiveHow does EMS Resolve the Problem: EMS enclosures are flexible and perfectly scalable

Confidential 2011 – www.ellipticalmobilesolutions.com

Value Proposition:Capital Expense reduction

•Lower costs vs. traditional data center deployments

•Lower costs vs. modular/container deployments

•Lower costs vs. remote office/network closet deployments

Page 21: Elliptical Mobile Solutions Micro-Modular Data Centers ™

Critical IT Facility Issues

21

Critical Problem 2

Problem: Limited Energy and highly inefficient cooling in data centerEffect of Problem: Data Centers running out of power due to so much power allocated tocooling the IT equipmentHow do you Resolve the Problem: Cool equipment within the enclosure rather than the entirefacility

21

Value Proposition:Operating expense reduction•Efficiency demonstrated in cooling “only the equipment” vs the entire room achieves up to 75% reduction in electricity costs.

•Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.1 (typical PUE for a standard data center is 2.0, meaning that for every watt of power delivered to the IT equipment, an additional watt is used to support the equipment from an electrical and cooling perspective)

•RASER HD allows for “high temp” water cooling, removing water chillers from the OPEX equation.

Critical IT Facility Issues

22

Critical Problem 3

Problem: Space constraints / Lack of flexible space to deploy ITEffect of Problem: Computing requirements outrun facility physical capacity, limited options relative to where IT is deployedHow do you Resolve the Problem: EMS enclosures reduce the data center footprint by 75% andoffer the ultimate flexibility in where IT is deployed.

EDI Case Study Comparing a Traditional Data Center Design to a Design Based on Elliptical Mobile Solutions’ R.A.S.ER. Micro-Modular Data Centers

Value Proposition:Footprint Optimization•Due to the ability to deploy higher density equipment, significant floor space reduction can be achieved.

•Due to the nature of the hardened enclosures, IT can be deployed in unimproved spaces, even outside.

Greater Flexibility in Use of SpaceThe EMS Cabinet offers a drop in place infrastructure that can be placed in any environment. This allows flexibility in site with strict floor space limits and even allows the client to implement this solution in less traditional spaces (boiler room, outdoor space, etc). The traditional approach requires a finished space within reasonable distances of an exterior wall or roof area where supporting mechanical equipment can be placed. The development of the finished space would include basic improvements such as floors, ceiling, walls, insulation, access, access control, grounding, lighting, and general power.
