EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - FINANCE£COMPETITIVE, LEICESTERSHIRE

emh group is one of the largest housing and care serviceproviders in the country, with over 1,100 employees and more than 20,000 homes across 45 local authorities. Our ethos is one of ‘profit for purpose’; our current turnover is around £110m; and we have total assets of over three quarters of a billion pounds. We currently build in the region of 400 new properties each year, and as Executive Director - Finance you will play a vital role in leading an efficient, responsible and well-governed organisation and help grow our capacity to offer the highest quality homes and facilities to our tenants and communities.

This role is central to achieving our ambitions for continued growth and success, taking responsibility for the effective strategic leadership, direction and operational management of all finance, treasury management, procurement and ICT functions within the Group. You’ll develop the financial plan for the Group and its members and ensure that sound financial protocol and procedures underpin a high performing organisation, and that the Group complies with its legal and regulatory requirements. As a member of the Executive management team, you’ll be a visible and influential leader within the organisation, playing an integral part in the delivery of our business plan and embedding cultural change across the group.

We expect that you’ll be a qualified accountant with a track record of strategic financial management, which has included significant treasury management experience. An accomplished leader you’ll understand how to model the vision and values of an organisation in your work, and bring these to life for customers, staff, partners and senior stakeholders. You should already have experience of reporting and advising at Board level, ensuring that decision-making is well-informed and that any risk is identified and managed at all stages. We are keen to hear from candidates who can offer proven business acumen and commercial awareness, but who are motivated by a strong social ethos and the desire to support great outcomes for communities.

This is the ideal role for someone who relishes the opportunity to make a meaningful and evident personal contribution within an organisation that is committed to living up to its ethical values.

DIRECTOR OF PROPERTY SERVICES£COMPETITIVE, LEICESTERSHIRE

emh group is one of the largest housing and care serviceproviders in the country, with over 1,100 employees and more than 20,000 homes across 45 local authorities. Our ethos is one of ‘profit for purpose’; our current turnover is around £110m; and we have total assets of over three quarters of a billion pounds. We currently build in the region of 400 new properties each year, and as Director of Property Services you will play a lead role in managing and maintaining these assets, to offer the highest quality homes and facilities to our tenants and communities. It’s a broad role that will see you lead on the combined Property Services Maintenance, Asset Management and Contractor organisations within emh group - covering both emh homes and emh care and support. Property Services is a key element our current transformation programme, and this is an exciting opportunity to develop a more strategic approach to the management of our assets. You’ll ensure that a customer focused ethos is embedded all that we do, and that we continue to deliver high quality property services that represent good value for money. You’ll encourage a culture of continuous improvement – assessing the potential of new technology and agile ways of working to keep the emh group at the forefront of the sector. You’ll also have the opportunity to identify and develop new income streams and maximise the potential of our DLO and in house landscaping contractor. As a member of the senior management team, you’ll be a visible and influential leader within the organisation, playing an integral part in the delivery of our business plan and embedding cultural change across the group.

Reporting to the Executive Director for Housing, we expect that you will already have leadership experience in a maintenance service setting, and that you can identify how your personal contribution has helped to deliver a customer-focused service and a highly motivated team. You’ll be familiar with setting and managing significant capital and revenue budgets, pursuing efficiency opportunities and overseeing capital projects. Fully appraised of the Health and Safety & Safeguarding responsibilities in this area of our work, you’ll ensure that your teams operate in a safe environment, following best practice guidelines at all times. You should also have a good understanding of the external factors such as national, regional and local policy and legal context, and ensure we continually adapt and tailor our approach in response to any changes as required.

This is the ideal role for someone who relishes the opportunity to make a meaningful and evident personal contribution within an organisation that is committed to living up to its ethical values.
