EMBEDDED CLAUSES
• Is a clause (a group of words that includes a subject and a verb) that is within a main clause or matrix clause, usually marked by commas (but not always).
• It is an information related to the sentence topic, it is put into the beginning, middle, and end of the sentences to give the reader more information and enhance sentence.
• Usually introduced by markers that, when, which, who etc…
• However there's instances when a marker does not precede an embedded clause. Such in case of gerunds (e.g swimming, eating etc…)
• It is reliant on the main clause so it does not make sense on its own.
