EMERGENCY PLANNING PROCESSES AND RESPONSE MECHANISMS

The simulation exercise, training, information sharing, preparedness in normal and emergency in the international Health (Point of Entry), the guideline have been done.
Public health experts involved in emergency response linked to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC). The BIOTEC is the national focal point and coordinate with the BWC to report the biological threats situations or appeal to State Party for supporting.
MOPH prepared the sufficient and qualified Designated Receiving Area (DRA) for laboratory diagnosis and medical practice in the hospital.
Thailand has implemented measures for public health emergencies and security under multi-sector collaboration.
The legal requirements, policies, strategies, plans, orders, documents between Public health, security authorities and related units have been provided.

In late 2016, Thailand carried out a table-top exercise for biological threat incident using the “Guideline for Responding to Biological Threat” prepared by MoPH in order to test, inter alia, national emergency response, information sharing and legal aspect of managing the incident.
