AUGMENTED REALITY
▪ Virtual Mockup – scale down model for table-top presentation
▪ Issue Tracking – capture design issues against reality▪ Markups and Enhanced Collaboration – add notes and
issues to share amongst design and operations teams▪ Measurement – measure point to point of design and reality▪ Asset Intelligence- view model information and properties▪ Virtual Navigation- virtually walk through designs

PHASE II MICROSOFT HOLOLENS INTEGRATION
GazeBuilt-in sensors let you use your gaze to move the cursor so you can select holograms. Turn your head and the cursor will follow.
GestureUse simple hand gestures to open apps, select and size items, and drag and drop holograms in your world.
VoiceUse voice commands to navigate, select, open, command, and control your apps. When needed users can speak to “Cortana”, who can help complete certain tasks.
The HoloLens (1st Generation) was selected for Phase II Pilot due to its ease of use. Its simplified user interface uses 3 core actions by the user when navigating Augmented Reality Scenes. The core actions performed by the user while inside an AR Environment are as follows:

PHASE II Feedback
• The Microsoft HoloLens provides a more natural AR viewing Experience
• Modifications are required for outdoor use (Tinting, Visors, etc)
• Currently requires a wifi Hotspot…we hope to have “off-the-grid” functionality soon
• Field calibration can be challenging (accurate positioning is still a manual process)…not as simple as the iPAD/Smartphones
Focus on advanced 3D VR/MR visualization technologies & workflows to be used for FDOT in-office operations, as well as public presentation use.
