EMPLOYEE OR ENTREPRENEUR
Nona Black
• If you ever thought about leaving your corporate job for the fast-paced life on an entrepreneur, you aren’t alone
• I too have thought about striking out on my own and starting my own company and own brand
• Millions of people around the world believe in a different way of life that means becoming your own boss and establishing a successful business built on your hard work and innovative ideas
• This article is designed to give you an inside look into the world of entrepreneurship
• One of the best pieces of advice I can give someone thinking about becoming their own boss would be a famous phrase coined by the United States Navy Seals; “get comfortable being uncomfortable”
• You should constantly feel like your pants are on fire and you need to keep moving and keep grinding
• As Mark Cuban has said before, “work like there is someone working 24 hours a day to take it away from you”
• I believe what Mark Cuban is saying is right in a lot of senses because if you have a genius idea that provides solutions to the masses, you can bet everything on the fact that others will compete against you
• Make sure before you take the leap of faith into the entrepreneurial space, that you have done your homework
• You need to know direct competition, trends, data, every bit of industry knowledge you can possibly compile
• Your business will be your passion and where a lot of your personal finances will go to, so it's vital to know exactly what you’re getting into and whether or not you love it beforehand
• Seek out learning opportunities
• There is always room to learn more, no matter how small an event you may attend will be
• You will no doubt gain invaluable knowledge along the course of your journey, and it's important to use it each and every day
• Take every opportunity to learn from others, your experiences, and yourself
• Connect with everyone you can
• Meaningful connections will allow you to reach new audiences and further your mission
• You never know how may know who and be able to help
• Always put your best foot forward in the way you speak to people, in the way you dress, and the way you conduct yourself
• People are always watching and tend to notice things you may overlook
• There will be good times and there will be tough times on the long road to a successful entrepreneurial venture, but it's important to know that and really understand it going in
• Its a huge learning process, but it takes a special kind of person to pursue their dreams like this, and if you’re willing to take the leap, I wish you the best of luck
