Health and Safety

• Health and safety comply with requirement, use of equipment to asses risks and control risks in the work place.

• Example: On se risks need to be assessed such as equipment e.g. Camera equipment and lighting eqipment.

Equal Opportunities

• Legislates prejudice based actions in the work place e.g. age, gender, disability, race and religion.

• Example: Religion, Tesco locked the prayer room so Muslims couldn’t pray.

Employment Equality

• Prohibits employers unreasonably discriminating against employees on grounds of age.

• Example: Retirement age- 65• Minimum age- 13

Employers Liability

• Compulsory insurance that protects employers in case of employee injury, illness or death caused by workplace.

• Example: If someone was killed on film set and was not the actors fault, their family can sue, so the employer must be insured.

Employee Right

• All rights allowing fair, workplace contracts and conditions.

• Example: Wage, holidays, leave- parental sickness.

Trade Union

• An organized association of workers in a trade, group of trade, or profession formed to protect and further their rights and interests.

• Example: Tube workers don’t feel that they are getting paid enough so they went on strike.
