This is a translation of the complex SAP data into an end user-oriented terminology we call ‘Objects’. An Object is the digital representation of something which exists in reality (e.g. a material, a sales document, a customer, or a stock batch).

Each Object contains all relevant registered SAP fields (from all the connected SAP tables) and relationship to other objects (e.g. from purchase document item to PD header, material, info-record and vendor) as well as new fields that have been created as the result of calculations with algorithms (see ‘built-in intelligence’).

This model is then used to create the new cross-process calculations, fields and insight that you cannot get from SAP or any other reporting tool – such as highlighting which components on a late purchase order will directly customer service by delaying the production and delivery of a finished product that is in short supply.

Finally, we further simplify the data by creating an Activity Diagram for each process area, allowing users to easily select process control, data management or business performance insights for their area of the business.

This fundamental concept enables end users to perform their own data discovery, freeing them from their dependency on IT resources having to do this work – which allows these IT resources to focus on other priorities.

Every Angle provides real business user self-service through its ability to take complex SAP data, held in separate tables within SAP, and simplify it so that it can be understood by business users, not just SAP specialists.

To achieve this, Every Angle takes over 1,000 SAP tables - including customizing tables - and all of their related fields and domains, and converts them and their core inter-relationships into around 100 easy-to-understand ‘Objects’ contained in a unique Every Angle Object model.

This algorithm works cross-module (MM/SD/PP/QM) and cross-process, providing the capability to analyze the end-to-end supply chain processes within one single SAP system (across all plants, and all levels in the Bill-of-Material).

This enables business users to analyze stock, demand and planned receipts in order to identify and resolve:

Firstly, users can create their own Angles and displays using predefined templates, found either by direct search or via Diagrams, which in turn can be executed immediately or automatically at pre-determined time intervals.

They can also easily create Angles with different displays in the form of lists, pivots and charts to their own liking.

Finally, Every Angle allows users to combine displays from different process areas into a personalized dashboard simply by clicking a button.

This extraction process can be done multiple times per day, this has no impact on the SAP system performance and does not interfere with other processing that takes place. The general rule/estimate is that the Every Angle extractor is between 3 and 5% of the size of the SAP database.

Every Angle GUI / Output Alternatives

Every Angle offers a browser-based GUI that can be run on tablets and desktops. It also has a SAP Certified transaction code (ZEA03) that allows for the execution of Angles in SAP itself. Finally, it can also easily export its enhanced data to 3rd party BI or data visualization tools.

Every Angle (in-memory) Model Server

Upon receiving the newly extracted data, Every Angle rebuilds the model (‘Refresh’). Every Angle uses configuration files outside the source code to build this model, which allows for a very rapid addition of Z-tables or Z-fields.

The Every Angle Extractor takes either a full or delta (configurable) extraction from the relevant SAP tables. The content of the extraction is based on the business applications that the customer has licensed as well as the modules that have been activated. The extractor automatically interprets the master and transaction data, the SAP data dictionary and takes into account the customizing settings.

1 Superfast Extraction of ERP data from ‘ECC on HANA’

Every Angle is able to perform accelerated data extracts from ECC on HANA systems, either a full download or as a delta. Live case studies show a dramatic reduction in data download speeds from HANA, enabling users to access Every Angle’s insights quicker. This enables Every Angle to rapidly build its model and then enhance it with the extensive amounts of new fields, added intelligence and insights, before publishing the HANA sourced data to the business users in a ‘near real-time’ format.

Here at Every Angle we are constantly looking at ways to improve and innovate in order to meet the needs of our customers. Our Every Angle 2018 product development plan contains three major areas of improvement that will be rolled-out in our forthcoming software releases:

1. EA Extractor for S/4 HANAThe table structure of S/4 HANA is significantly simplified compared to ECC. This means that Every Angle can execute a much faster and simplified data extraction process, resulting in more time being available to add even greater levels of business insight and intelligence to the data, resulting in the availability of even greater analytics to the end user with less latency.

2. Real-time execution of Angles in S/4 HANAS/4 HANA’s simplified table structure, in combination with the speed of execution provided by its in-memory technology, allows Every Angle to develop Angles directly on the S/4 HANA source data as well. This means that some of the value-added analytical power of Every Angle can be delivered in near real-time. For the more extensive calculations, such as the unique (and complicated) demand-supply matching algorithms that provide Every Angle with cross-process supply chain insight, the Every Angle Model Server will still be necessary.
