Emraan Anwar Hashmi was born on March 23rd 1979 to Anwar, a Muslim and Maherahh, a Catholic.
Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt is his uncle and actress turned director Pooja Bhatt is his cousin.
He is also related to singer AtifAslam.
