1. Introduction:
A city has been destroyed because of some reasons. This project is to
create a new city which exposes the elements of natural and built
environment in their basic unit, form and function.
As a mayor of the city, one has to refer back to the ancient, present and
future city before he/she plans. He/she also needs to consider the
components of a good city and how it sustains itself, livable and populates.

existence, relying on hunting and
gathering for sustenance. Later on, the systematic cultivation of plants and
the domestication of animals allowed for more permanent settlements. The
people started to live together which led to the increasing in population. The
requirements for them were getting higher and developed even more, such
as system of writing, a more complex social organization, and technological
advances.

City: Venice
3.1 History of Venice & 3.2
Concentrating On Venice
First human settlements were in 5th and 6th centuries. The Rome Empire had
fallen after the invasion of barbaric
The people ran away to Venice to survive. The land was surrounded by water
took on the semblance of a real town. The inhabitants built raft to connect
wooden walkways, houses, buildings and monuments.
When the city is big enough to deserve the title of city, it was then annexed to
the Byzantine Empire, while maintaining its own independence.

3.3 What Makes It A Significant City & What Are The Details
Venice is formed by 118
small islands separated
canal and linked by bridges.
The city is renowned for the
beauty of its setting, its
architecture and artworks.
The city is listed as a World
Heritage Site. A huge church, consecrated in 1094, was built to
house the remains of the Saint, who then became the patron saint
of the city: the Basilica of San Marco. Today, there are numerous
attractions in Venice, such as St Mark's Basilica, the Grand Canal,
and the Piazza San Marco. The canals between islands are for
transports of goods and people.
In the 19th century, the transport system
was Venezia Santa Lucia railway station
which linked between the mainland and
the city. And now, gondola, a classic
Venetian boat has become one of the
attraction points in tourism.

4. Investigation & Data Collection: Present City
City: Boise
4.1 History of Venice &
4.2 Concentrating On
Boise
The area was called Boise long before the
founding of Fort Boise. The Fort Boise was 64 km
west, near Parma, down the Boise River near
its confluence with the Snake River at
the Oregon border. This defense was erected by
the Hudson's Bay Company in the 1830s. It was
abandoned in the 1850s, but massacres along
the Oregon Trail prompted the U.S. Army to re-
establish a fort in the area in 1863 during the U.S.
Civil War. The new location was selected
because it was near the intersection of the
Oregon Trail with a major road connecting the Boise Basin (Idaho City)
and the Owyhee (Silver City) mining areas, both of which were
booming. During the mid-1860s, Idaho City was the largest city in
the Northwest, and as a staging area, Fort Boise grew rapidly; Boise
was incorporated as a city in 1863.

5.4 Conclusion
Dubai uses the resources it has to get more by trading. While trading and
developing, it has guaranteed the future of it. The oil trading will be replaced
with the other commercial activities but not focus on oil trading anymore. So,
a trading system in a city is very important for it to sustain and survive.
5.5 What Information Or Elements That Can Be Used In My
Future City
Use the resources in a city wisely to make sure that the city is able to sustain
after the resource is used up. Investing the money earned in tourism and
commercial activities to develop the city.

6. The “X” City:
6.1 History
In 2023, the every pieces of ice had completely melted
in both North Pole and South Pole. The melted ice
turned into water and the Earth is completely covered
with water, all the lands and mountains are flooded
underneath water. As a mayor of the city, I will need to
take up the responsibility to build a new city for the
citizens.
6.2 Who Are The People, Population And Religion?
Subang Jaya, a small city in Selangor has about 150, 000 people live in. It
consists of 3 main races in Malaysia, Malay, Chinese, Indian and small amount
of other races. The citizens worship 4 religious, Islam, Buddhism, Hindu and
Christian.

22
6.3 What Are Their Cultural, Needs, Types Of Jobs?
The culture of the city is mainly focus on Malay, Chinese and Indian, but some
of them are influenced by British. The people who are living in the city are
mostly working in office and they get the food supply and water by trading
because the city itself is a trading city.
6.4 What Would Be A Good Future City For Them?
After the serious consequence caused by global warming, the city to be built
should be able to get the food supply, water and even electricity by itself.
Also, the city should be continuing as a trading city to get more resource and
earn money for developing.
6.5 Conclusion About The “X” City
The main point for building the new city should have commercial activities
and technology for the city to get the power supply itself and create an eco
friendly environment to prevent the Earth from worsening.

7. Dicir (New Name Of The City):
7.1 How Did I Came Up With The Solution To Create This
New City & 7.2 Why Is It Floating On Water? & 7.3
Important Characteristics And Elements?
The global warming had melted the ice in North Pole and South Pole, so I
decided to create a city which is floating on water because it can obtain air,
water and 3 ways of transportation to other cities. I was first started off with a
circle because it has the most water resistance among the geometries. But I
was then developing my idea by adding one more circle to create my city a
streamline shape which has a bigger resistance against water current. From
the side view of the city, you can see there’s something look like “fish gills”
where I put the water turbines between them to generate power. When the
water current splashes from sides, the turbines spin. But with only a power
supply is not enough, so I plan to put wind turbines around the city. Then, I am
trying to focus on how to create a sustainable city, I continue with the
previous city where it is a trading city. So, my building is mainly focus on
commercial and residential to let 150, 000 people to live in as the brief
requirement. Everyone in the city is actually helping in developing Dicir.

24
7.4 Conclusion Of Dicir
Dicir is mainly focusing on the commercial activities and also giving everyone
an opportunity to get a job. Besides, the city I am creating is eco friendly and
the air producing in the city is healthy to everyone. One of the main points is
that the city itself gets power supply by renewable resources, wind and water.
These should be creating a livable and sustainable city.

9. Conclusion:
The most important part is learning to be a critical thinker and practicing
problem solving skill. This could be found when it comes to the zoning part
and how you provide the solution to overcome the city because the reasons
provided must be logical and add in more imaginations.
The best part of my city is everyone gets a job, it generates the power supply
for itself and the city will not stop developing as long as its trading system
within runs properly. This is how my city providing a good life to citizens, an
eco friendly environment and It is livable and sustainable.
