1 . Complete at least one year of their Candidate Plan .

2 . Complete the retreat requirement .

3 . Be prepared to assume the role of disciple and witness to

Christ , both within the Church and in their daily lives

(Catechism of the Catholic Church 1319).

In order to prepare for Confirmation, Candidates should:

1 . Complete 6 weeks of immediate Sacramental Prep

through a weekly small group .

2 . Receive Confirmation at the next upcoming Confirmation .

After Requesting Confirmation, Candidates will:

RETREAT REQUIREMENT

Any retreat , service trip , mission trip , or

pilgrimage that includes Mass , Adoration ,

and the opportunity for Reconciliation can

count toward the retreat requirement . (Theonly exception is that Catholic SchoolRetreats that take place during the schoolday will not be accepted.)

IMPORTANT NOTES

The start date for the Candidate Plan begins onthe 1st of the month closest to the date when theCandidate Plan is signed (For example, Candidatesigns on Oct. 19 --> start date begins on Nov. 1)

Candidates progress through the year only asthey complete quarterly check-in’s and sign theirupdated plan. It is the Candidate's responsibilityto submit their quarterly check-in's in order tomove forward.

Each Quarter begins on the 1st of that upcomingmonth (provided the updated plan is signed).

Updated plans that are not yet signed will beginon the 1st of the month after they are signed.

All Candidates are required to completethe retreat requirement beforerequesting Confirmation.

Candidate Plan recommendations are based on the

Candidate 's Registration survey and vary for each person . A

Candidate Plan takes into consideration where a particular

person is at in their faith journey .

Each plan is based on the pillars of prayer , community ,

service , and formation which are all crucial to a lived

Catholic faith .

The Candidate Plan is not a checklist of things to get done ,

but rather a guide for the Candidate to help them grow in

their faith life . Nobody , even the Saints , has perfected a

lived Catholic life . The Candidate Plan is an outline of goals

for the Candidate to strive for .

REQUEST FOR CONFIRMATION

The request for Confirmation will be

submitted via an online form and will

include short answer questions about the

Candidate 's growth in their personal

relationship with God , their involvement in

the Church , and their preparation for the

Sacrament .

In addition , Candidates will select a

Confirmation Sponsor & Saint on their form .

SPONSOR & SAINT

In accordance with Canon Law, a Sponsor can beany confirmed, practicing member of the CatholicChurch in good standing (but cannot be a parentor legal guardian). 

A Sponsor should be someone who is a strongwitness to the Catholic faith who has an ongoingrelationship with the Candidate and cancommunicate the importance of having a deeprelationship with God.

Each Confirmation Candidate will pick a Saintwho they believe serves as a role model to them& whose name they will take at Confirmation.

After submitting the Request for Confirmation , Candidates

will select one of the upcoming options for their small

group . Small Group sessions run weekly for 6 weeks . Small

Group Options begin bi-monthly .

Candidates should only select an option that they are able

to attend every week for the 6 week period . Out of respect

for the setting of the small group , absence at either of the

first 2 sessions will automatically result in being moved to

the next round of small groups .

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

Confirmation Mass will be held once in the

Spring and once in the Fall of each year .

Candidates will receive Confirmation at the

upcoming Confirmation after he or she has

completed their immediate Sacramental

prep .

A rehearsal will take place the week prior to

the Confirmation Mass .

Candidates will receive the Sacrament ofConfirmation when they have preparedand are ready to receive.
