ENCRYPTED DATA RECORDING SYSTEMSMDR - MARITIME DATA RECORDER

GDTU - GROUND DATA TRANSFER UNIT

The G-DTU is a ground-based docking station that is used to upload and download data onto/off maritime platforms. Data recorded by the MDR is decrypted by the G-DTU prior to transmission of the data to post mission analysis software/hardware. The G-DTU uses the same encryption/decryption algorithms as the MDR.

The Maritime Data Recorder (MDR) is a compact data recorder for maritime platform applications.

MISSION SYSTEMSSMEE - SAFE MATING ENVELOP ENHANCER

The Safe Mating Envelop Enhancer (SMEE) is designed to assist the Navy’s Undersea Rescue Command in conducting shallow water rescue operations under challenging conditions. SMEE provides a mechanical connection point for the Pressurized Rescue Module that increases the mating force to a disabled submarine.

JARVIS - JOINT AVIONICS RECONFIGURABLE VIRTUAL INFORMATION SYSTEM

JARVIS provides decentralized processing through an Integrated Modular Avionics 2nd Generation (IMA-2G) approach. Architecture allows networked Processor Nodes to identify and dynamically migrate processing requirements from a failed processor node to a healthy node while using a common communication protocol and software interface. JARVIS can partition federated applications from the OFP to preserve red/black and safety level separation, providing a true modular software architecture.

CADAMASS - COMPACT AERIAL DEPLOYABLE ACOUSTIC AND MAGNETIC-ANOMALY SENSING SYSTEM

The Compact Aerial Deployable Acoustic and Magnetic-Anomaly Sensing System (CADAMASS) is a multi-sensor, integrated, and modular Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) payload system that is designed to attach to the weapon pylons of a Vertical Take-off Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV). Its modular design allows it to be configured to maximize capability for specific mission requirements while operating within the power and weight limitations of VTUAVs.

CADAMASS is integrated with the VTUAV’s communications systems to allow the payload system to relay tactically significant data to the command center while simultaneously allowing the VTUAV ground/shipboard control station to issue commands to the payload sensors. The flexibility in payload configuration and two-way communication with the systems sensors greatly extends the operating horizon of ASW and mine hunting platforms.

NEXT GENERATION LASER RANGE FINDER

POC is developing a next generation laser range finder (LRF) that uses less power and innovative receiver optics to produce a detection system that is less likely to be detected by other platforms. This technology will enhance safety of ship and improve range detection capabilities while minimizing interference with other optical detection systems.

RETRO - REAL-TIME SIMULATOR AND TRAINER FOR RADAR OPERATORS

RETRO provides operational advantages by improving crew readiness to navigate through congested waters under challenging operational conditions. Using RETRO, the operator can learn to effectively use radar controls, navigation functions and can be trained at any location on earth, under any weather/sea condition, and for any level of congestion. The crew’s ability to train on RETRO under difficult operational scenarios will improve overall crew readiness, enhancing the operational advantage.

DREAM - DIGITAL RF COUNTERMEASURE

Dream is an active RF Countermeasure that will detect advancing radar threats, then emit a decoy counter frequency. This novel concept is lightweight, low cost, low power and utilizes Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM) technology. DREAM consists of a wideband antenna tranceiver and a long lasting power supply. Its aerodynamic packaging was designed to meet rotorcraft requirements, and can be repurposed to function on other aviation, maritime, or ground vehicles.

DESAA - SENSE AND AVOID SYSTEM

DESAA is a distributed phased array enhanced sense and avoid system. This ruggedized 360° sense and avoid system uniquely fuses eight sensor nodes consisting of Phased Array Sensors (PAS) that are distributed strategically around the platform to provide a complete 360° FOV. This information is then processed and graphically displayed in the cockpit, giving both azimuth, elevation and distance information to the pilot or operator within the sense and avoid area.

ADITUAS - AUTOMATED DETECTION, IDENTIFICATION, AND TRACKING OF UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS

ADITUAS is an infrared based imagery system that encompasses 360° motion-compensated coverage by uses multiple sensors on the platform. This system protects ground vehicles against UAV threats, day or night. As a passive sensor system, the ADITUAS system allows ground vehicles to operate in any threat environment.

ARGUS - ADVANCED FIRE CONTROL/RADAR FOR UNMANNED SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS

ARGUS is a 360° obstacle avoidance system for identification of Group 1 & 2 unmanned surveillance systems. ARGUS is designed to be lightweight, low cost, and low SWaP. This innovative RADAR system operates in FMCW mode to locate targets. It then transmits the data via downlink to the ground station. This system is excellent for situation awareness, perimeter security surveillance and the detection of hidden individuals. ARGUS will work in day/night and degraded visual conditions and can be utilized in manned and unmanned/autonomous applications. Future systems will include a machine learning algorithm the capability of adding additional sensors.

AUTOMATIC TARGET RECOGNITION SYSTEM

POC is developing deep-learning image recognition algorithms for maritime inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imagery that will enable detection systems to accurately identify a specific target among many interfering or neutral contacts. With rapid update rates, classification accuracy, and minimal SWaP this technology will deliver a high speed, all-weather maritime ATR capability for multiple weapon systems used by the U.S. Navy.

PRIMP - HIGHLY PARALLEL REAL-TIME IMAGE-BASED 3D MODELING AND PRESENTATION

PRIMP visible 3D imagery combines multiple 2D video feeds from UAVs in real time into a photorealistic 3D imagery presentation which includes items such as vehicles and humans in motion. This 3D nature of this system allows for a greater understanding of the tactical environment and reduces the overall workload for the user. PRIMP is specifically designed to aid in Synergistic Unmanned/Manned Intelligent Teaming (SUMIT).

DEESTAC - DEEP LEARNING STATIONARY TARGET DETECTOR AND CLASSIFIER

DEESTAC is a radar based system for enhanced detection of stationary targets from airborne radars. DEESTAC exploits target polarization information in a high-clutter environment while using a small aperture to allow for a low probability of interception (LPI). DEESTAC is specifically designed for airborne platforms that utilize Radar as a primary means of threat detection.

WISDEM - WIDEBAND INTELLIGENT RF SPECTRUM DETECTION EXPLOITATION AND MONITORING

POC’s family of Agile RF Filters can be synchronized to frequency-hopping radios, Data or SIGINT Systems and dynamically create notches in the full output energy of most EW Assets, thus removing harmful interference from communication Data or SIGINT frequencies. It operates in the analog domain, and can provide over 100 dB of in-band attenuation, with minimal reflected power (VSWR <1.4), and low out-of-band insertion loss (<1.0 dB), while passing over 1kW of power to the emitter. It is capable of creating frequency tunable filters and/or dynamically configurable widths and depths. Agile RF Filter performance has been validated in US Navy and US Army EW labs using military radios and EW Assets.

WISDEM is a system used to reliably characterize the RF spectrum in an area and provide the data in real-time to a central control over band-width limited communications channels.

POC’s SEAA antenna, suitable for DDG low radar cross-section ships, is based on the integration of POC’s already developed low-size, weight, and power (SWaP), customized, multiband, microstrip, low side-lobe level, high-gain active electronically scanned antenna array optimized for SATCOM uplink/downlink frequencies.

SPECTRALLY COGNITIVE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

POC’s Spectrally Cognitive Communication System with Predictability of Extended Link Range (SCYPE) integrates tropospheric and ionospheric RF propagation loss models with dynamic spectrum access (DSA) and cognitive radio techniques in order to provide reliable, persistent, long-range, point-to-point (no relays) communications for maritime applications, in particular small autonomous maritime vehicles.

POC’s CADRS provides protection for unmanned systems against cyber-attacks at the application level in real time. CADRS employs a deep learning approach combined with advanced cognitive bottom up cyber sensor data analytics at the application layer to provide the artificial intelligence (AI) needed to ensure that applications are cyber-aware and accurately identify, protect, detect, and respond to attack vectors and recover from cyberattacks.
